“Room with a view Stockholm”

The elegent Intercontinental Grand Hotel in the heart of Stockholm is perfect for any traveller wanting to walk around and see many attractions. Old town (Gamla Stan and Castle), museums (Vasa, National, Viking, Nobel) and activities (Skansen, boat tours, shopping) are all walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff were all very keen on making my stay perfect.

“DIdn't stay long enough”

The Grand was such a "grand" hotel. It really did surprise me with how luxurious it was. I only got to stay one night at the hotel and wish I had stayed longer so I could have taken advantage of their beautiful pool. I felt like such a "high roller" when I was there becuase everybody was so nice and the ammeneties were awesome. THe bed was super confy and it was a KING size bed so it was really roomie. It may sound funny, but the bathroom was gorgeous and very clean, which I think is a tell tale sign of a good hotel. Stockholm was so beautiful and clean and there is enough sightseeing and shopping to last for a very long time. I would definitally suggest this hotel to anybody who wants a convenient location to shopiping and old town. It's a little far to the train station, but convenient to the Hop-on-hop-off buss. Upon departure, we got a taxi right in front of the hotel for a 30 minute ride to the airport (that was with no traffic, but may be longer depending on traffic). Most people speak english there, so I didn't feel like there was really a language barrier at all, so that was nice. I will definiatlly be staying in this hotel again.

“Great Room / Great View”

I stayed in a delux room with a lake view and it was worth every penny to wake up to a sunny stockholm overlooking the palace. Room service was excellent and the food superb. My room was very large and value for money. Two small concerns - don't bother with the terrace dining room - your view of the palace will be obscured by sun blinds and ferries. Also the gift shop is very small for a hotel of this size - still all of stockholm's main shopping areas are to hand.

“Outstanding Service and Food!”

Overall, our stay at the Grand was very enjoyable. The food was excellent and the room was very comfortable (featuring DUX beds!). If you can, get a room with harbor view. I suspect other rooms may look on to other buildings or the bleak interior of the hotel so might not be very pleasant. Also, as is the case with most things in Stockholm these days, it's a bit pricy but the Expedia rates help take the sting out a bit.

“Wow! Well worth a visit”

My husband took me to this hotel for a treat away and what a hotel, absolutely FANTASTIC!! The staff were help personified and the spa amazing. Go and enjoy!
