“hORSESHOE BAY MOTEL”

We came to Horseshoe Bay from the States for a realtive's wedding. What a hidden gem! A quick drive west and you are in a sweet little village with all the amenities you could ask for. The Horseshoe Bay Motel is one block from the waterfront...where of course there are great restaurants, a Starbucks and the ferry dock. The folks at the motel were great -- gave us anything we asked for quickly and with a smile. Only downside was that the bed coverlets were a little ratty --- but otherwise it was well appointed, modern and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and be able to avoid the traffic and noise of Vancouver proper. It's location on Hwy 1 was ideal for getting back to Vancouver for sightseeing or for a scenic drive along Marine Drive or north to Whistler. We were a party of one five including three kids and felt this was a great deal in a safe and beautiful location.

“Not worth staying there just to be close to the ferry”

There is no air conditioning at this motel and even though the window could be open, it didn't seem safe to do so because of people walking by the window to get to and from their rooms. Room had a small fan but it was insufficient to get air moving out of the room even over night. It would have been better to stay in Vancouver and drive out to the ferry departure terminal in the morning rather than stay in this facility.
