“worth the price”

Wonderful setting, very nice breakfast. Much more pleasant than a typical resort hotel.

“Quiet retreat”

Beautiful spot, very peaceful and a large lovely room. Little extras like the cooler and towels, umbrellas etc. for the beach were very nice. Updated info - they do have tv/dvd and wifi. A very quiet place - great to sit on the lanai and read as the grounds were beautiful, the ocean view stunning. (We generally had too many places to go and things to do - but a pretty convenient drive into Hilo , surrounding falls etc. )

“A sad and disappointing experience”

Our biggest complaint was the lack of any welcoming feeling. There were more "don'ts" than welomes. One must want a venue (beautiful view) that is isolated, with no TV and services. We were not aware that breakfast was not included because we used Expedia. Since there are no restaurants within 11 miles, that was a bit disconcerting. There was coffee in the room, but we were denied coffee by the sea on the patio unless we paid for breakfast. We found this very unfriendly. We asked for an extended checkout from the owner and she was rather "snotty" about it. We did finally receive it from the desk clerk who was charming. We would not return.

“Nice but not convenient and too many restrictions by the owners”

We liked the room and the breakfast was great. However we felt a little less than welcome with all the "rules" like "don't throw away trash in you room" and " don't put your luggage on the bed". What really put us over the top was being charged $10 a day for Internet only to find out afterwards that it was only accessible from the "common" room. It is indeed a beautiful property but it seems the owners care more about the property than their guests.
