“My first choice in Hong Kong”
The Regal Riverside is an excellent for those who seek value. Despite its location in the New Territories, Shatin is only two KCR stops north of Kowloon Tong Station which allows for a quick transfer to the MTR. One can reach Central in no more than 40 minutes or the Shenzhen border at Luohu in 30 minutes. The walk from the KCR station is approximately 12 minutes. If you have luggage however, do take a taxi; there is a flight of steps on the way. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The surrounding area offers a nice view of the Shing Mun River and fresh air. I have been staying at the Regal Riverside since 1999 and highly recommend it.
“Sha Tin”
Seems to be a very popular place for overnight for tour groups but not a problem except if you have to check in or out with them. This is a very nice probably 4 star hotel but but have to take the metro system to get to Sha Tin and the hotel is about a mile away. Hotel has a shuttle, or taxi is cheap. Also bus 284 has stops outside of hotel and mall with metro station but would have to ask direction to fine first time. You can also take bus 49x ?directly to Hong Kong airport. There is also a bus from airport to Sha Tin. Didnt see any western food places around the hotel and didn't eatat hotel except for the Moon River? cafe in the same building 1st floor for breakfast but wasn't western. The mall probably has a McDonalds but never looked for it. Sha tin seem to be nice place. Hotel has excellent gym, not sure I looked at the swimming pool. Price good compared to Hong Kong. Staff always helpful and friendly
“The one hotel I will always be happy to go back to”
Absolutely fab hotel. A little further from HK or Kowloon but very good transport links. 2 metro stations nearby and bus stops outside hotel. Bus 182 goes to HK central. Save the taxi fare, and walk to stations!! 8 or 12 minutes pleasurable walk to either. Metro to central takes about 20 odd minutes. Check out the nearby Shatin Plaza mall !!! Hotel is fantastic!! To the front, is lovely river and mountain views, to the rear is fantastic mountain backdrop views. Room standards, 101%. Lovely staff, kind room maids, nice reception area and all floors. airport shuttle service. And around 10 restaurants and 2 bars at hotel. Concierge even had scales to weigh luggage before you get to airport to make sure you don't get the unexpected overweight luggage fees. Not too cheap, not too expensive, but priced just right. “Good 4* hotel at a reasonable price”
Quiet and comfortable, plenty of room space. Always stayed at Regal Riverside due to price, access to public transportation - MTR at Town Center Mall 15 minutes away; airport bus immediately outside the Hotel. Safe to walk back to hotel from MTR even at midnight. Shatin is more preferred than other crowed areas like Mongkok or Timshatsui because of quality of air, green zone at the river and variety of eateries at the Mall or nearby housing neighborhood.

We were upgraded to a deluxe room. This was very quiet and massive in comparison with other hotel rooms we have stayed in while in Hong Kong. A bus stop outside the hotel gave access to the airport, Hong Kong Island, Mong Kok and other areas in the New Territories. The station and Sha Tin shopping plazas were about 10 minutes walk away.
“Sha Tin Diamond in the Rough”
This hotel is world class. Staff are friendly and most speak English. Breakfast Buffet very good. Room was very clean and relatively modern. I would recommend this hotel to any middle class traveler.
“satisfactory place of staying in hk”
good service, and condition of hotel. quite a large space of room with affordable price. only shortfall is the distance from town, half hr from town by subway. but overall good hotel. recommended for those who dont mind travelling for shopping in town.
“Accomodating Modern Hotel at Sha-Tin”
Arrived hours early and the staff was accomodating anyway and set me up with a room that was ready, although a bit smaller than the one I booked I was delighted to just get the room and put down my luggage after a long plane ride. The next day I was transferred to a larger room as I requested with no problems.

Huge room, very comfortable. Pleasant location by riverside - good for evening strolls. Short walk or shuttle bus ride from MTR station. Airport bus (50 minutes) stops outside hotel. Had a couple of breakfasts in the 'Moon River' cafe - simple but reasonable price. Would definitely stay in Shatin again; peaceful location but quick,easy and cheap to get into Kowloon or Hong Kong Island on public transport.

This Hotel has hit on a winner with their i Club profile. My wife and I both agree that of all our accommodation, from motels to 5 star Hotels The regal Riverside iclub was the best experience.
