“No Frills and Decent, but 2 Issues”

The Regal iClub is conveniently located in Wan Chai, a short walk to subway, buses, trams, and ferry. Fancy restaurants - the Pawn, the American Restaurant - within walking distance also. The standard room is no frills, but nice, new, and clean. Room space is a bit tight but enough for two. Excellent shower! Breakfast services is OK, and guests can easily bring additional food items (available at the Wellcome grocery store across the street on Johnston Rd). Free wi-fi and a big TV are all good. Then there are things that can improve. There is no hotel voicemail system (yup, I am old-fashioned). Incoming calls can only get thru if the reception staff have a chance to pick up. We had a bit of trouble with this issue. Then, the night before departure, when we ask about getting a taxi in the morning to the Airport Express train HK station, the staff assured us that they could get us one easily. When we checked out, the morning staff said that taxi's at that hour would only take us on long hauls (all the way to the airport, not what we want!) I was frustrated with this inconsistency. So I just walked out onto Johnston Rd and luckily hailed a taxi. It's not good when basic local transportation arrangements according to hotel staff got screwed up.

“Bien placé mais cher pour le service”

Cet hôtel, bien situé mais de très petite taille (chambre, lobby, restaurant) reste cher comparé aux autres hôtels environnants. Il n'est pas à la hauteur du reste des hôtels Regal.

“Nice hotel conveniently situated next to the tram”

Totally refurbished. Smaller rooms are too small for two persons. Staff upgraded us to a two bed room after one day. OK breakfast but no Chinese food.

“Cramped room space but sleek and economical”

We booked the "Iselect Room" for our trip back to Hong Kong from Malaysia. We intended to stay only two nights so we chose this hotel since the room in the photos looks very trendy and the price seemed reasonable. When we opened the door, the room appeared much smaller than I imagined. The width of the room is wide enough to fit the queen size bed. Regardless, the floor tile looks sleek and clean. It is very small space but the amenities are well equipped. What surprised me is they provided tooth brush and tooth paste, which we don't normally find in other hotels for this price range. We had two mid-size luggage and two carry-on luggage. As the space is a premium for this room, there isn't much extra room to fit our luggage. Privacy could be an issue if you share w someone. The door of the bathroom is a sliding see-thru glass door with a white curtain that could be used to cover up the glass. There is no sound proof at all. A person outside the bathroom will hear everything. The location is great, you wouldn't have problem to find restaurants, stores like 7 Eleven, all either across the street or on the next block. MRT is only two blocks away, 3mins walk. This type of hotel room is suitable and economical for a solo traveler who wouldn't mind the confined space. For a couple, it would be a bit cramped esp. if you have more than two pieces of larger than mid-size luggage and privacy when using the bathroom could be an issue.

“HK experience”

good location, clean but small even if we had an upgrade which was nice. Everything there what you need as long as you are not a room dweller. Breakfast simple but enough. Free WiFi is ok bit slow.

“A very comfortable and good-value hotel”

The room was lovely, clean and bright with high-speed wireless internet included, telly, microwave and a large, clean shower room with a nice, powerful shower! The only thing I would mention is the breakfast which was rather limited and the breakfast room was very crowded.

“Convenient Location”

In the heart of Hong Kong Island city center. This hotel has full time elderly residents here also. All of them were very polite. Hotel staff was very helpful in every way. Breakfast had a lot to be desired. There is a bakery down the street that was perfect. Its in the Lens Crafters Bldg. on the 2nd floor. French Bakery cafe, exellent food and pricing. On the 3rd floor of the complex is a couple of nice dinner restaurants also.

“Big Noise”

cheap, clean and new hotel in a convenient location, but big noise from the trams on Johnston road in the late night and early morning.
