"5 Star Experience At The Island Shangri-La Hotel"
From the moment you walk in to the hotel you experience 5 Star Quality. The staff are amazing. The hotel is beautiful with all the amenities you could wish for - from the beautiful spa treatments to the stunning pool and fabulous restaurants. The view from the rooms are sensational - overlooking the harbour. I stayed there for 10 days and did not want to leave.

"Excellent Hotel Close to Victoria Harbor"
This hotel is more than worth the cost, not only due to the quality of the rooms and amenities but also the excellent service. They don't nickle and dime customers for things like bottles of water in the room and even their minibar, although limited, was included in the room price. Besides this, there was free high speed internet access in the rooms and they also provided a smart mobile phone with unlimited local calls and unlimited international calls to select countries as well as unlimited 3G data including ability to set up hot spots--all this for no extra charge! This was particularly useful when I was out and about in the city since I did not want to use international data roaming on my personal phone. Overall, this is a place that is run with a great deal of thoughtfulness about the needs of the customer that goes well beyond free amenities. They truly make you feel like a guest being respectfully served rather than a cash cow being brazenly milked as is regrettably the case with many so called "big name" establishments.

"An Island of calm in this non-stop city."
We left a cruise which arrived earlier than check in time - the staff checked us in and had us wait in the Lobby Restaurant, which has a wonderful view of the passing parade of Hong Kong Harbour until the first room became available, then came and took us to our room to which our luggage had already been delivered. This was probably the most hassle free early check in experience we had ever had. This theme of exceptional service continued for our entire visit. I could go on with many instances but will only give one further - on our first night we had a very good waiter in Café Kool Restaurant and when on our final night before heading to the airport we dropped in for a light snack he remembered that my wife had had soup on the first visit and made a recommendation of another soup without being asked.

"Comfortable Expo-friendly and five star"
Grand Hyatt's are generally nice places to stay in any country and this one didn't disappoint. The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive. I was upgraded to a room with a better view (being a panoramic view from the island towards TST across the harbour, very nice indeed) upon check-in. The hotel is being upgraded at the time of this writing so there were a few things closed for renovation but that was a minor inconvenience given the good range of choices within. The hotel is quite literally atop the convention centre so accessing that was very easy (my primary reason for being in Hong Kong) and the location is an easy 5 minute walk to the ferry station, well serviced by taxis and a short walk to the older streets of Wan Chai or a 5 minute taxi trip to Causeway Bay's shopping areas.

"nice hotel in ideal location for shopaholics"
excellent customer service. nothing was too much trouble. only one black mark when I went to change foreign cash. I felt the staff reluctance to change for hk dollars and made all sorts of excuse. For a hotel in one of the world financial centres, that was a shame.

"Great location"
We spent a couple of nights on our way to Paris. This was our 5th visit to Hong Kong and the first time we have stayed away from the Harbour. This hotel is in a great location, with the Bird and Flower Markets just across the road and the MTR right next door.
