“Small rooms”
The bedroom was far too small for 2 people with large bags. The service at breakfast was overly efficient, with plates and cups being taken away virtually as soon as you put them down. The feeling was they wanted us out of there as fast as possible.
“Always like going back to it”
I have been staying at the Island Pacific Hotel regularly for quite a few years as I come to Hong Kong several times a month. Personally I like it quite a bit as the dedicated staff has always impressed me with their level of servies and engagement. The rooms are of decent size compared to other hotels in HK ( very small in international standards but that is HK for you...), clean and functional. I know some people do not like the area in the western part of town. Personally, I actually like it a lot, in spite of the smell of fish and being crowded. To me this looks like old HK and not just another modern glossy city without identity. I will continue to go back to this hotel because it is reasonably priced, honest and real, and because the staff do their best.
“Like this hotel”
The front desk and bell boys are very friendly. Hotel is quiet even facing the main street. All my friends and relatives recommend this hotel to us. We stayed total six nights and enjoy every night here.
“good hotel”
very good hotel. a little far from MTR station
“SMALL TINY ROOMS”
The rooms are extremely small. There was hardly any room to put any luggage. Otherwise, everythingelse was as expected. The location is accessible by tram from almost any part of Hong Kong Island. The tram is half block away and costs only HK$ 2.3 to go anywhere but you need exact change. The buffet costs HK$ 152 and had a very good selection and very good service.
“Can't Beat the Price!”
Not in $400 a night neighborhood but just down the street. Easy access to everything in Central and taxis are extremely cheap and easy to use. Would definitely recommend and return.
“Can't wait to go back”
Wonderful location! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend!
“Island Pacific Western District HK”
Great hotel, I travel in and out of Asis via HK and this hotel is close to the airport express, and in a fairly central location too. A taxi to the MTR is about 20HKD and the airport express is about 40HKD. Price is fair and the rooms are small, but bigger than other rooms I have seen in HK. Ask for a non smoking room, Highly recommended,
“Island Pacific is Recommended”
This hotel is quite nice. About a five to ten minute cab ride from Central's Airport Express train station (about $30 HK) gets you there; for the very fit, you can make the walk from Central in about twenty minutes or so. The views from rooms facing the harbour are very relaxing. The room was clean and, for HK, pretty spacious. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey for what's on offer, but overall OK. The neighborhood immediately around the hotel is a little quiet, but you can get to busier parts of HK in pretty quick time. This hotel is excellent value and worth the stay.
“Not Impressed”
The rooms are beyond small. We asked for an upgrade and were lied to and told that there was not a bigger room only difference was it had a view but we knew it was bigger because we saw it coming down the elevator. After we spoke to the Manager we were upgraded to the Execuitive rooms which were much more sastifactory but to be lied to by the front desk was not plesant and it left a bad feeling with me about the hotel in general. The Buffet for breakfast was not good. No Variety. Hotel is in the slummy area with cockroaches walking around outside. None in the Hotel though Hotel itself was very clean. Concerige was good.

Western District, Hong Kong: Get a feel for the Hong Kong of old. Start at the Chinese Central Market (the tender-hearted should avoid the lower floors, where poultry butchering takes place) on the corner of Queen Victoria Street and meander down narrow laneways where herbalists and other traditional shopkeepers display their wares. Dont miss the worlds longest outdoor escalator, at 880 meters, which also provides sweeping district views.
