“One of the best hotels in Asia”

The hotel's staffs were quite efficient and polite. They took care of all my requests within a couple minutes. The facilities were relatively new, beautiful and clean. They would readily take care of your luggage if you need to leave them behind temporarily to travel to another city. The safe in the room and the swimming pool was an excellent addition. I stayed in 2 different rooms and they both had huge windows, tasteful decorations and one even had a flat screen TV and ipod player. It's less than 5 minutes to the Fortress Hill subway station. There is a lively neighborhood right outside the hotel: little cafeterias, restaurants, boutiques, convenient stores, supermarkets, etc. The only problem came not from the hotel but the guests from other provinces who tended to refuse to wait in lines for their turns. Although the hotel staff reminded them to wait for their turns, it wasn't done consistently and I myself was cut in lines more than twice. These quests also constantly shout and scream in the lobby, elevators and inside/outside their sleeping quarters anytime of the day. It would be nice if the hotel put up some sign in English and Chinese to ask people to keep their voices to the minimum. They might lose a few customers in the present but save their reputation in the long run. The noise created by those guests startled me in the lobby and woke me up from my sleep everynight. What a shame!

“Good Choice - Hong Kong Island”

Arrived to a clean, comfortable room with friendly staff. Good breakfast. Didn't walk the neighborhood - but this is Hong Kong -- going to be bustling wherever you go. Room was Large -- my double had a queen and a single bed -- very roomy. For the price in Hong Kong, I thought the Hotel was perfect.

“City Garden Hotel - North Point Hong Kong”

This hotel is away from any tourist attractions which is why I have returned there on 15 occassions. The local restaurants are Hong Kong 100 per cent The MTR to get you around Hong Kong is that good it is worth the extra push to get out to Fortress Hill and stay at this hotel I will be back next year......

“Perfect hotel for family vacation even from US standard view”

This hotel has decent room size and high ceiling. It is quiet and clean. The location is convenient to access subway and bus. 4500 HK dollars were paid for taxi from airport to the hotel. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The WiFi internet is free and there is a router under desk in room, so never have signal weakness. The shower head is low that may bump your head easily.

“"Awesome"”

I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting HongKong,,, the rooms were clean ( I got two rooms), the surrounding was all HongKong, shops, stores, restaurants, and market. About four blocks from the MRT station from where one could reach all destinations in HongKong. The buffet was reasonable,,, the staff friendly,,, right next door is a 7-11 and other 24 hour convenience,,, thanks to Expedia I got a real bargain,,,

“Great North Point Hotel!”

Everything about the hotel was either acceptable or more than acceptable. Depending on the goals of your trip, the location is pretty good if you plan on staying on this North Point side of the city. Even if you are not in the immediate area, Hong Kong is so accessible that this hotel would still be worth considering for a stay. Note that if you take the MTR, the closest stop is Fortress Hill (not North Point). We took the A11 bus from the airport and that bus ride took about 70 minutes from the airport to the City Garden Hotel stop. The best part is that the bus has wi-fi, which worked really well the entire way, so for those who must be connected, the bus would be a good choice. The hotel is actually very nice and well maintained. It looks like they renovated it at some point in the last few years as I heard it was getting on in years from other folks who had been there a while ago. The lobby is very nice and the front desk and bell boy staff were all very cordial and efficient. If you plan on getting breakfast and need Internet at the hotel, I do recommend getting the combo deal for breakfast+Internet. It's a great deal and they give you a 3G cellular dongle so you can surf the net from anywhere in the city, not just in your room. The rooms are large by Hong Kong standards and have pretty much all the amenities that you will need. The hotel even provides outlet converters upon request.

“Very satisfied”

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights in November. Really excellent. Got upgraded to Deluxe room free of charge. Nice size room and also very clean. Free South Morning post newspaper delivered to your door every morning as well. 3 minute walk to Fortress Hill station or hop on a Tram for 15p. We found staff extremely helpful as well. Didn't eat at hotel, as there are plenty of places to eat near by - bowls of noodles about 1 pound 50. Would stay again, as close to family in Shau Kei Wan.

“Will definitely go back!”

The location is near the apartment complex and the MTR (Fortress Hill). Everything is accessible - food, shopping and transportation. The staff were very friendly, courteous and warm. I didn't have any problems with my entire stay. The linen were always clean and on the overall, the room was good enough (in terms of size) for twin sharing. We had welcome drinks, cookies and fresh fruits. My only comment is that I requested for a queen size bed but ended up with 2 single beds. We opted out for the hotel breakfast because there were a lot of restaurants nearby. Try Cafe de Coral and MX. The price is very reasonable and the food is good. If you feel like eating western food, there's McDonalds, Burger King and Subway a few blocks from the hotel.
