“Dog Friendly!”
If you have to go to Hobbs, and you have a pet, this is the place to stay. The hotel is very new, and nice. The beds are comfortable and clean. The hotel is located on the North side of town, right off the main highway, but not noisy at all. Very close to what is major shopping in Hobbs, Wal-Mart, and also the NMJC, the racetrack and many chain restaurants. The pool is heated, and the staff is welcoming. I've stayed here the past two Christmas holidays with my miniature dachshund, and have loved it both times. The surrounding neighborhood has beautiful brick homes and well maintained lawns. I had no issue walking my dog at all hours, day or night. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, but most especially to dog lovers.

This is a great hotel. We had no problems with the "La Quinta" aspect of the hotel; our room was great and very comfortable. We loved having hot breakfast available every morning in a nice, clean dining area. Apparently, however, it is hard to find good service in Hobbs, NM. We had to ask daily for clean towels. They would take the dirty ones away, but not put anything back. At one point we were told that they were out of towels. The hotel pool was unavailable for over half of our stay, the vending machines didn't work, and at one point the elevator didn't work either. Add to that the unbelievably loud neighbors at 2:30 am and the constantly yapping dog down the hall, and we found ourselves thinking that we had somehow managed to book the worst hotel in Hobbs. Next time we will book a different hotel.
“Check out the room immediately!”
They obviously gave me an out-of-service room that they nhad cannibalized to get parts for other rooms. My room had NO bathroom doorknob (there was paper stuffed in the knob hole), Missing one closet knob, was missing part of the faucet, no bath light fixture cover, no TV remote, no bedside clock, and finally NO TV power cable. I did not discover most of these discrepencies until I returned later that night. They were full and had NO MORE rooms available (so they said). I was able to move the next day to a larger room (per the manager) where at least everything was there, but the refridgerator made a loud ticking noise. I left the AC on to cover the noise. I grew up in Hobbs and had returned to take care of packing up my late mother's house. Although most of the new hotels in town were built in the last 5 years, I am disappointed in their cheap construction. Be wary!
