“What a great little oasis”

This was a very nice, friendly hotel with suprising amenities. Beer and wine every afternoon in the garden and a real hot breakfast with eggs and bacon every morning - all included in the cost of the room. We have already highly recommended it to friends and family headed to Hilton Head.

“The feeling of a Bed and Breakfast, but with more privacy!”

We loved the feeling of staying in a an older "Southern Hotel", but it was fresh and inviting. The upkeep was fantastic. The only advice would be to use real flowers in the dining room in the little vases would be a nice touch. It was so quiet and the grounds were beautiful. Was more than we had even imagined.

clean, neat...nice breakfast...as manager of the Sea Spray Resort on Siesta Key I found this property very nice, clean and friendly staff...even with a critical eye. Grounds presented a lovely garden setting and the circular driveway is very appealing as you drive in...

The only Bed and Breakfast type inn that we have found in Hilton Head. Great service. Intimate. Nice breakfast - not a Rt. 95 motel breakfast - but real food (eggs,omelets, etc.) offered. They recently changed ownership, but we are hoping they keep up the good work.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Main Street Inn and it's yet to disappoint me. It is a charming, quiet hotel with a great staff. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic and a great way to start the day.

“Oasis of Peace on a busy island !”

We are an international couple, living in NC but originally from England (me) and Poland (my wife). We celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary at Main Street Inn and were very happy with almost everything...The ambiance, decor, gardens and pool, service and very friendly staff (some of whom were from European countries too!). The only negative things we encountered were 1. The 'southern style' breakfasts (the cooked items were not to our tastes (such as biscuits and gravy), except on the last day when there was bacon and sauteed potatoes...though not enough really. And 2. The carpet in front of the room fireplace was dirty and needs cleaning. However, on balance, we had a wonderful stay and would return if we visit this area again. We heartily recommend this hotel which is an oasis of peace on what can be a busy island.

Main Street Inn is not another of these big international hotels that are the same everywhere and thus dull and boring. This place is a small luxurious and quiet hotel with perfectly styled rooms, a wondeful garden and a great and individual service. We felt very much at home. We would go back anytime. Note: The hotel is not at the beach. Parking spaces at one of the few public beaches is very limited.

We stayed at the Main Street Hotel July 12-18,2006. We went to Hilton Head to attend a son's graduation at Paris Island and extended our vacation because we had never visited Hilton Head. I enjoyed the Main Street Inn tremendously. They had a lot of unknown perks. We were served breakfast, not just muffins and coffee, it was a breakfast, and each day they had something different. They had fresh coffee, tea and cookies during the day and afternoon. You were offered wine in the evening. They came and turned down our bed in the late afternoon. The decor of the Main Street Inn was great. Well maintain gardens full of flowers. I was very pleased with this hotel and will go back.
