"Escape to Paradise"
My wife and I were absolutely elated with our stay at this marvellous hotel that lived up to very bit of our expectations. It was our 1st stay here. We chose this place because we wanted to get away from the busy touristy parts of Lake District and due to good reviews about it. Though the prices were a tad high, we enjoyed quality for the money paid. Ees Wyke is located on a slight rise overlooking green pastures and Esthwaite Water, far from the madding crowd. It is a refurbished country house that is clean and beautifully decorated interiorly with absolutely comfortable furnishings. The managers, Richard and Margaret, paid the utmost care to detail, from welcoming guests to preparing and presenting a exquisite set dinner for two, to maintaining cleanliness of and ensuring comfort in the boudoir and giving polite suggestions for spending an idyllic day in the surrounding area.

"A Quiet Retreat"
This rural and graceful hotel proved to be exactly what we were looking for. Very quiet, virtually no traffic, close to several beautiful locations and importantly easy to find with good parking in the grounds. Very well-appointed establishment with extremely helpful staff, which made for a very relaxed and comfortable stay. Comfortable bed and an excellent en-suite. Although we had other plans for evening dinner each day, we did enjoy the huge selection on offer for breakfast. Would certainly recommend this hotel to those looking for peace and comfort in a fabulous area of the Lakes.

"Lovely garden location"
We were on the first floor with a lovely view over the gardens and glimpses of the lake. About 5 minute drive out of town but this is probably a plus in busy holiday periods. Full breakfast included in the rate and free parking and Wi Fi meant it was extremely good value. Room was fairly large.

"Great location in the Lake District"
Walking distance to the village. Very quiet location. Breakfast was exceptionally nice. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. Recommend the ferry to Conostin Water and the walk around the Tarn Hows followed by a trip to Ambleside. The Albert Hotel in the village was a great place to eat.

"Lovely hotel in a perfect location"
This Laura Ashley hotel is beautiful with amazing views of Lake Windermere. We wanted to eat in the hotel on the night we arrived, we were told there are 2 restaurants, one formal with a set 5 course menu, one informal where you choose how much you want to eat. We wanted the informal restaurant (Brasserie) but were told this was full all night & our only option was the 5 course set menu. I don't know any woman who wants to eat 5 courses, plus this restaurant was virtually empty most of the night and in fact for our entire stay there only seemed to be a few tables used. Maybe the type of menu offered in this restaurant needs to be reconsidered - an up market, fine dining restaurant is lovely but I would prefer to choose how many courses I want to eat. We had a standard bedroom and it was lovely, as was the bathroom. There were a few issues with the window blinds as the mechanism didn't seem strong enough for the weight of the fabric. I'm sure this could be easily rectified, possibly with metal fittings instead of plastic. Overall, a few teething problems as the 'Laura Ashley' refurbishment is so new, but a superb hotel that we would visit again.

"Richard and Debs are very helpful hosts"
We enjoyed the stay although I personally found the roads around the Lake District a big challenge, Narrow with had to allow oncoming traffic which seemed to drive a break neck speed to pass. We didnt have an accident which was more for the grace of God and Luck. This is obviously not Debs and Richards fault.
