“Sokos Helsinki Rocks!!!”

Busy busy day (Tuska Open Air Festival that weekend) but was able to get to check in an hour early as the luggage storage room was full and I wasn't comfortable leaving my luggage unattended. Location couldn't be better, within walking distance of Central Railroad Station, Stockmans and Lutheran Cathedral. Small room (I had a single) but perfect for 1 to 2 people, very well laid out with everything you need. Bed was beyond comfortable ... I want to go to Ikea to buy a similar extra mattress on top that made it ooooh so comfy. Breakfast buffet was plentiful with delicious food. A couple good restaurants on site and several places near for tasty dishes. Will definitely stay again my next trip to Helsinki!!

“Sokos Hotel Helsinki : central, proche de tous les lieux touristiques”

L'hôtel se situe non loin de la gare, terminus des bus venant de l'aéroport (ligne 615 ou navette Finnair), du marché et du port des ferries, de la place du Sénat, de la promenade et du Design District... bref de tout les lieux touristiques d'Helsinki, son emplacement est idéal. Les Finlandais sont charmants et le personnel de l'hôtel ne fait pas exception. La chambre était spacieuse et propre, plutôt bien insonorisée. Deux remarques : on ne peut pas ouvrir la fenêtre et les rideaux ne masquent pas suffisamment la lumière du soleil qui en juin se lève à 4 h du matin ! Le buffet du petit déjeuner est impressionnant, tout le monde peut y trouver son compte et la qualité est bonne. Il faut juste faire attention au goélands voleurs si on mange en terrasse ! Deux restaurants font partie de l'hôtel : un de cuisine française méridionale qui a bonne réputation et un type américain avec burgers, viandes, pâtes, salades... Le test de ce dernier s'est avéré concluant, la cuisine est bonne et copieuse. Un hôtel à choisir les yeux fermés.

“Value for the Money”

I like the hotel and the location, but if the websites of the hotel can provide more detail map that how can go to the hotel from the bus stop or the train station by walking or by car if from the airport. I'm hard to find the hotel when I got alight from the airport bus, because the map provide by the website is not such accurate versus the actual vicinity.

“Good Central Hotel”

Central location, very convenient with a good sized and comfortable room. Slight problem with a poorly designed shower with door hitting towel rail restricting movement. Also a lack of skrim curtains gave no privacy from the offices across the narrow street. Good breakfast selection and internet access.

“Ascetic Nordic style... Not for everyone”

Good location in the Central of the city 5-10 mints walk to all city attractions. The location is only one positive feedback about this hotel. Room was ex trimly small, just one bed and small table. The space is hardly enough for one person,The window in the room was broken and it was only shower, no bath tub. I asked to change the room and without any problem i got new room. The room was OK, but bath tub was not cleaned, it was somebodies hair inside:(. The hotel said they have a spa, in reality it is only 1 sauna, no swimming pool, no Jacuzzi. So i did not use the sauna, looks very scary on the top floor and no people around. The time is limited for woman and men and you never know who can enter the sauna. The stuff was pretty helpful no concerns here. the breakfast was OK, but nothing special, too busy and you need to ask stuff to clean the tables. I would recommend this hotel only to somebody who travels to Helsinki for 1-2 nights and alone. Not for families at all.
