“I would go back to the same hotel again next time I get a chance to go on vacation like that.”
I love our hotel. People are all warm and friendly.
“Very comfortable resort like feel”
This is a large complex (as are the other hotel chains located nearby). Lots of amenities. Rooms very comfortable and well maintained. Good quality restaurants nearby.
“Wonderful time in a wonderful place.”
This is a great hotel and they are very quick to address any need you may have. It is very close to a wonderful beach with great amenities, and they have pools, slides and hot tubs for those not wanting to go in the ocean. It is also within a two to five minute walk from two fairly large shopping malls with mostly high end stores, but with a food court with fast food, including Subway with "$5 foot longs!" They have great specials every day (3 pm, $3 draft beer; 4 pm $4 tropical drinks, 5 pm, buy one, get one entree in restaurant, etc.), and the offer snorkeling, kayaks, etc., on their beach a short two minute walk from the hotel. All in all, a great place to stay.
“Lovely hotel in ideal location”
We were very happy with our stay, the hotel is pretty and is located on a nice beach. It was a relaxed atmosphere and there was lots to do at the hotel and within walking distance of it. Also, the grounds were well-maintained and the staff was friendly.
“Definately go back - great hotel in a great location for a great relaxing time”
We loved this hotel and all its beauty. Its more intimate than other big resorts with easy access to all amenities. The gym was great and open 24hrs with new equipment and clean. The pools are great for all ages with a great bar and good food. Very short walk to the beach which is sheltered from the high surf - this made a difference when all other beaches were closed apart from this one. Weather was great, hotel staff were mostly happy and helpful apart from when we checked in but we soon forgot that. Room with balcony was comfortable and clean. Shops across the road with great restaurants, like Roys and Merimans, and food markets. Easy to rent cars and drive around the island - trip to volcano is a must but takes 2+ hours each way from this resort. Kona coffee farm a must (any will do) for tastings. Overall we had a lovely time and would definately do back.
“Would recommend this hotel”
Having read previous reviews before booking on expedia I took their advice and booked the Marriott. I can now say that yes it was a great stay in Hawaii. Ate in the one restuarant a couple of times which is good but expensive (but all hotel food is expensive!)Had breakfast included which is well worth it. Rooms comfortable and quiet, good view over pool/sea, lovely sunsets. Beach small but plenty of sunbeds and activities available. Also visited Hilton next door to eat a couple of times in the chinese and italian and again really great food. Hilton too spread out though, and on speaking to families they said their children got fed up waiting for the train or boat to get around the grounds. Went on boat trip whale watching with captain Dan and were not disappointed. Also went on helicopeter ride over island, but due to low cloud and after small eruption unfortunately were unable to see live lava flow, but company refunded our money! So very impressed with that. Great holiday and would definitely go back to Marriott if we return. The 2 small malls in walking distance/shuttle distance are nice to wander round, but still not full as yet.
“Lovely start to finish”
Everything about our stay was lovely. The breakfast buffet each morning was wonderful - make sure to have the Mahi Mahi when it's avaiable - an unusual but good breakfast item, paired with fresh fruit. My son loved the Portugues sausage and donuts. The waitstaff at breakfas is down to earth and friendly. The pool area is fabulous - Three pools and hot tubs to relax in. No matter your age, I recomend the water slide. The mixture of guests at the hotel was nice, too. No one seemed snobish. Maybe it's Hawai'i, but no pretenses.
“Would stay there again!”
This was a wonderful place to stay on the Big Island. It is gorgeous and the views are amazing. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable. An issue arose with the mandatory fees they charged to allow for incentives (which I guess resorts always do) and the staff quickly resolved the issue. I was very happy about that. The hotel is close by to a lot of wonderful beaches and the snorkeling at the bay right outside the hotel was amazing! I would stay here again and again! PS - If you can't decide between the Marriot in Waikoloa or the Hilton, just be advised that the Hilton is extremely elaborate and huge. Possibly too big (we went and checked it out, it is worth at least that). The bay at the Marriot is much better. The Hilton feels like Disneyland because a lot of the stuff is artificial and there are tram systems all over. If that sounds like something you would like then stay at the Hilton. The Marriot just felt more genuine. Also, the Marriot is within walking distance to the Kings and Queens shops which is very convenient.
“Beautiful location and facility”
Highly recommended for anybody visiting the Big Island. The Waikoloa Village is beautiful and the Marriott is right on the beach. excellent pool and hot tub facilities and a great in-house restaurant.
“Wonderful place to stay on the Big Island”
We had a wonderful time. The staff were great and the room was clean. The view of the ocean and the lava field was wonderful, would definitely go back again.
