“Great place to enjoy your time”
We regret we were only here one night at this B&B but it was oh so nice. This was our first experience with a B&B and was not sure what to expect. It is located just far enough from Hilo to let you enjoy the openness of the land. On our way we drove by macadamia farms, palm trees and horses since the B&B is located on a hilltop overlooking the ocean, and some of Hilo. There were no horns honking or people yelling, just birds and a spectacular waterfall to lull you to sleep. We wanted something out of the way so we could expectance real Hawaiian hospitality. They have a walking trail to the waterfall and through a variety of bamboo trees, all very well kept. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff we did meet ,were very helpful and interesting to talk with. Breakfast was tasty and plenty to eat! We are sorry we did not meet the owner....maybe next time!
“Big Island Paradise with a swim in a waterfall”
Wonderful place to stay. We swam in the waterfall even though the water was not clear as it had rained a lot. We loved it. We could hear the waterfall all night running from our room downstairs even though we didn't see it from our room. Amazing! Views of Hilo, Macadamia nut orchard, bamboo orchard with tropical plants. The woman who cooked our breakfast Jasmine was a great cook with eggs, waffles, pancakes cooked to order and amazing fresh fruits and coffee. Saw a rainbow over the waterfall. Felt wondeful and met some very nice people. Would stay there again for sure. Great website and a nice property.
“total relaxation and quiet except for the sounds of the waterfall”
This is a little off the beaten path but only added to the allure and beauty of staying next to a waterfall. Lovely all the way around. We wanted for nothing and the breakfast was superior to any place we have ever stayed before and made to order to boot! Overall we couldn't have been happier with our stay and would love to return for a longer stay.
“A hidden gem”
Fabulous location for a perfect romantic getaway. The Inn is hidden from the main city and is right beside a gushing waterfall and in the middle of plantation land which borders forest land. Very tranquil ending to an otherwise long and hectic vacation to other islands and locations. Breakfast, rooms and common areas were perfect. The spa & massage was one of the best we have ever had.
“Quiet and Restfull”
Recommend a GPS to find. The Inn is rather remote, no street lighting along the way [very dark]; although there are signs to guide you. Note – They have their own hydro electric plant and are not connected to the grid [no street lighting]. Very quiet, very green, no power interruptions, I wish I do that – very cool! There was no one on duty at night when we arrived. With the help of another guest we found our name on a bulletin board with our building/room assignment, key was in the door. Rooms a little small but beautifully decorated in a Japanese motif, gorgeous Koa wood floors. A stunning view of the water fall is just steps from our room with trails down to the falls and bamboo gardens. Coffee and scrumptious breakfast is served in the same building as we were staying. Staff was very friendly and helpful other guests were also very friendly; a family feeling. We highly recommend and would stay there again.
“Wonderful”
Beautiful grounds, the waterfall is amazing. Super friendly hostess made a delicious breakfast and gave us lots of information on the area.
“Great Hideaway in a Relaxing Atmosphere! Best Place to Stay in Hilo!”
Ten minutes from a main road this is the best place to stay in Hilo. The place is hidden, so I recommend finding the place during the daytime. I was greeted by the owner who smiles like Jeff Bridges. The cook Laura made awesome waffles for breakfast. While I waited for waffles, I enjoyed the view of the waterfalls. Only 10 people can stay here at a time. Three Japanese contructed buildings make the entire site breathtaking. There is also a great view Hilo from the top as well as a bamboo garden. It's a place to think, relax and spend time with your significant other. Cheers!
“Honeymoon in Hilo”
Booked through expedia and did not get the routine email confirmation so had to wing it to get there. 1st the room had no telephone nor a tv, internet great. Climate control was the patio door as well as the window. That being said not having an air conditioner was not a great deal as the sounds of the forest great and temp ok, somewhat humid though. The grounds were great and falls awesome. No bug problems. The road to get there is long but very pretty and worth it. Breakfast was good for 2 days but we got the idea that the menu does not change much. Great location and if we are to return to Hilo would come back. To be fair the main house had a telephone as well as Tv. The phone number to the resort was not answered and messages left with no return.
“Pluses & Minuses”
Hospitality was laking but the grounds and the waterfall made up for other shortcomings. Breakfast was identical and run of the mill everyday.
“Once you find it...”
This is a spectacular bed and breakfast...once you find it. We booked through Expedia and did not get the email confirmation normally sent went booking directly from the inn that contains the precise directions to the property. None of the locals we talked to had heard of it and the inn's telephone is not answered on a regular basis. Definitely contact the inn by email and get directions. The falls are an out of this world backdrop, making this place a "must stay" if you are in the Hilo area. Bobye's breakfast is a great start to your day after a great night's sleep in a comfortable room just far enough from the madding crowd.
