“Very impressed”
Yes, the hotel is under renovation so you should know that at this time, no services are really available (restaurant, room service...). But the newly remodeled room we were in was clean and bright. The front desk staff was very friendly. We reserved the cheapest room, a "Banyan Tree Drive view" room, which upon arrival we noticed were all under construction. Since it was clear they would have to upgrade us anyway, and clear that the hotel was far from full (empty parking lot), at checkin I asked what was the best room she could give us for our rate. She indicated she had preassigned us to a room, but she continued to work the keyboard and said she could give us room 429 for the reserved rate, which she said had a partial bay view. It was a GREAT view. She went out of her way to give us the best room she felt she could. Oh, and if you don't already know, the coqui frogs croak throughout Hilo like crazy all night, but we ran the airconditioner and didn't hear a thing.
“A 3 Minutes de l'aéroport et des parcs nombreux de la ville.”
Très bon petit déjeuner-buffet à 12,50 USD, parking gratuit, nombreux restaurants à proximité.
“Great Hilo get-away”
The hotel was great. Even though they are currently renovating, all of the services we used were great. The staff was very responsive, and incredibly helpful. The beach and a great park are within walking distance, and so are several smalll shops. There was a kayak rental guy right up the street, and overall excellent location.
“Satisfied”
This hotel is old but I found it to be clean and well kept. Sure, a few stains on the carpet but overall it was a nice place and I will definitely stay there in the future.
“can't wait to go back”
The rooms are beautiful and clean and the view is great if you get an ocean front room. If you don't have an ocean front room, every floor has a ocean front balcony accessible with chairs for anybody to enjoy. There are also chairs and benches in the yard along the waterfront. But they are currently renovating this hotel (May 2009), so a few of the floors are closed down, as are the gift shop and spa and other things they may have had. Also there is some noise as they work on the floors, but if you are out and about, rather than just sitting in your hotel room, you really won't notice. The hotel is in a good location with stores, restaurants and downtown Hilo (with the Hilo marketplace) just minutes away. Coconut Island and Liliuokalani Gardens are right across the way in walking distance.
“Happy Camper”
The ocean view rooms on the upper floors offer excellent vistas across the bay to Hilo and out to the ocean. The town centre, other shopping, the airport or the road to any number of Big Island adventures and tours are all reasonably close.
“My first trip to Hawaii”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort in Hilo, during the week of Feb. 11th, thru the 16th. The Hotel staff were very helpful, and the room and it's accomodations were excellent. I would heartily reccommend this hotel to anyone who would want the same experience.
“They did a great job remodeling.”
They did a great job remodeling. The room was very nice and the kids enjoyed the pool.
“Happy”
Well located, non pretentious, great value for money, friendly and helpful staff.
“Overall Experience......was Awesome!”
My overall experience was Awesome! Everyone (from the front desk to the gift shop)was really nice and friendly! My "newly renovated" room on the 9th floor was totally awesome! But my son stayed with a group from his school on the 6th floor in a room that wasn't renovated and he said it was totally the opposite of my room. But other then that, he said all of the people that worked there was really nice to them. I would definitely recommend the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort!
