“Best Resort on the Big Island!”
The Mauna Lani is a great hotel for kids! Between the pool and the private beaches, it was so relaxing for all members of our family. We took our 5 and 1.5 year old and they had soo much fun running around the open areas. The only downside was there were a limited amount of evening dining choices. It was either their high end restaurant (Canoe House) or room service from that restaurant. There times we just wanted a wider selection, especially if you are staying several nights and do not want to leave the resort. Overall the hotel staff and activities were top notch. From casual visits to hotels around the big island, the Mauna Lani appeared to the best (to us!).
“Best Vacation Ever!”
The location is fantastic, the hotel is fantastic, the food is fantastic, and most of all the staff is fantastic! What makes this resort a superb place is the staff that works there. The staff truly care that you have a great stay with them and will do anything to make sure you do. You cannot fake this, they truly treat you like a member of their family. It was the best vacation we have ever had and we have traveled all over the world.
“Pure Relaxation”
Loved the staff, food and pool/beach. Very relaxing!
“Fantastic Experience”
From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be a different experience from so many other hotels we've stayed at. Might have been the lei greeting. Might have been the sit down check in. Might have been the refreshing fruit juice served at check in. Lots of little things that really do add up. The staff was very friendly and helpful (when was the last time you had the valet offer to park your car in self parking and then bring you the keys?). Plus, you get an great experience without being nickel & dimed at every turn. Snorkel gear...free. Wi-fi...free. Beach cabana chairs...free. Then periodic ice cream snacks at the pool...free and delicious. They also threw a great new years eve party on the beach from 9-12, including activities for the kids (also free). Location is awesome (its own beach and only ~30 min from airport) and most rooms have a view of the ocean. Both the food & service at the CanoeHouse restaurant were excellent. My wife's grandmother celebrated her 95th b-day during our stay, and everyone went above & beyond to make her feel special. In summary...simply amazing. Now I just have to figure out when we can go back.
“Big Island Paradise”
Our week at the Mauna Lani was the perfect Big Island getaway. The hotel grounds are airy and beautiful and you get a sense of history with the fishponds. You have two great beaches to choose from and you can swim and snorkel with the fish and green turtles. The rooms are comfortable, tasteful and clean with a bed that made us buy a new mattress when we got home! The restaurants at this hotel are all superb, especially the one offering the breakfast buffet. And if you want to try other local restaurants or pick up some lunch from a grocery store you won't have to drive too far. You hear a lot about that famous "aloha spirit," and if you visit the Mauna Lani you'll find it alive and well.
“Best place to stay on the Big Island!!”
The service is exceptional & they do not charge you annoying parking & resort fees. Even without a resort fee you still get use of snorkel equipment daily for 4 hours & beach & pool seating/cabanas are no charge. They have 2 beaches at this resort. One beach had sea turtles on beach & in water at all times & second beach excellent for snorkeling - lots of coral & colorful fish in very clear water. This resort has a laid back peaceful feeling instead of the big crowded national brand resorts on the island. I would definitely return to the Mauna Lani!!
“What a Dream !”
A family trip we will never forget! Top of the line hotel with all the amenities and unforgettable kind, friendly staff. Everything was worth it. Our 6 year old wanted to live there. We loved the grounds, ponds with all the sea turtles and sea life. Very well maintained, lots of activities to do including learning to dance the "hula". We enjoyed everything- even had "smores" one night by the beach. Thanks to all the wonderful staff. Wish we could have more people like them. Too bad we had to wake up from that dream.
“So amazing. I want to go back.”
Went here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Everyone on the grounds was friendly and helpful. Very impressed.
“Can't wait to go back”
The staff is extremely friendly and accomadating. The grounds breathtakingly beautiful. Located just 2 exits from Hapuna Beach one of the Big Island's best beaches. A travelers dream for a fun relaxing vacation in paradise.
“Can't wait to go back!”
This hotel is fantastic!! Whatever we wanted.. we just had to ask. The hotel upgraded us to ocean front and the view was unbelievable. The staff was so friendly and the food was great. Love the fact that we didn't have to fight for cabanas at six a.m.
