“Very Best Service, Staff, Lifeguards, Everything”
Very Best Beach!! Lifeguards the BEST!! Knowledgeable, Helpful, No request to big or small - they did everything possible to make our visit Perfect! Our 8th visit...can't wait to go back again!
“Very Special Place”
Will definitely be back.
“Excellent beach location & Weather”
If you want to stay on a beautiful beach, this is your hotel. If you want to take kids & have a family vacation...this is your hotel. If you want a hotel away from everything else....this is your hotel. But if you are on your honeymoon and don't want kids around...this is not your hotel. We were on the last 3 days of our honeymoon and we loved the beach location and stayed here because it was recommended to us by friends. The downside for us was there were too many kids playing around in the pool and they took over the jacuzzi the whole time. We stayed at the grand hyatt on kauai for the first week and was much nicer and many pools (with some zoned as adult only), so was a nice touch. Also we found the hapuna a bit dated in decor...it was very clean, but just not as nice. Also, beds were not great...they need to update the beds/pillows! Overall, we would come back when we have kids!, but do not recommend for a honeymoon. We still had a good time and the weather and beach were fantatic. Instead of hanging by the pool we opted for the beach and did day trips....make sure you do the Mea Kea Mountain for sunset...it is amazing!
“second stay and really like the resort. However, the rooms could use a slight facelift.”
The hotel is very comfortable and on lovely grounds with a nice golf course. The beach is great with nice sand and low serf which is good for children and swimming. The rooms are comfortable with views. The rooms do need some updated carpet and the doors look very weathered since the last time I visited.
“A Hotel with beautiful beach and sunset.”
The Kapuna Beach Prince Hotel has wonderful beaches and the landscape is just beautiful. For the golfers its a slice of golfing heaven on Hawaii big island. The hotel is slowly aging but the maintenance is still good. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The hotel does not provide complimentary bottle water or free internet access. For the price the hotel charges these two items should have been free for the guest.
“Very nice for the price.”
This hotel met all of our expectations for a relaxing time on the beach. The service was always very friendly and helpful with regards to any questions we had. We also feel this was one of the best beaches that we had every visited. The only downside was the price of food at the hotel. If driving, the modest self-park cost and a drive to local shops is definitely worth the effort.
“Beautiful Beach”
Hapuna Prince is definately a place to go if you want to get away from everything else on the Island. If you chose this hotel, be prepared to spend A LOT of money on food and drinks. We got a good deal for the 4 nights using expedia. The nearest place to get food not in the hotel is Waimea, and Kona is about 1 hour drive away. We didnt know before we got to Hapuna that it was so far away from Kona, and had made plans to go to a Luau and snorkeling, so it was kind of an unexpected drive. The beach is GORGEOUS and the pool is fabulous. I loved the outside of the Hotel. The rooms are another story for the price you pay. I have been in much nicer rooms for less - even the holiday inn express has nicer rooms. The colors are really old fashioned, like pale wood and pastels, and old TV's. Granted, we spent a lot of time outside the room, but its still nice to have a place to chill when you are exhausted. Also, ask prices for thier dinner buffets, we didnt and the buffet for 2, and 2 drinks each, plus tip was over $200 which was kind of a surprise, as i didnt think the buffet was that amazing. The rpices are high-end. Expect to pay $12-$15 for a mixed drink/cocktail. We ended up eating in Waimea most of the time, just to try and keep the cost down. Overall, it was a fantastic time, and i will have fond memories of the beach and the pool for a long time!
“Look forward to going back”
My daughter and I were extremely happy with the hotel. The most beautiful beach on the island. They do need to update the rooms a bit, with new beds and flat screen TVs. Nice size bathrooms with separate showers. Excellent service and friendly staff.
“Magical Spot, this is our second time at Hapuna, will go back again”
The best thing about Hapuna Prince is the feeling of tranquility the minute you arrive. The open air spaces for the restaurant with the daily Hawaiian live happy hour music resounds gently throughout the property. The pool is adequate and the beach is probably the best on the big island and right at your doorstep. They rent snorkles and fins at the pool to take to the beach. If you want to rent more adventure, as in a stand up paddle board or kayak, you can hike a mile long cliff path to the neighboring resort of Mauna Kea where they also have their own gorgeous beach and their own out door beach bar for a different atmosphere to sip your tropical daily libation. It may not the best resort for children who might get bored and it is a long drive to the town of Kailua in Kona (32 miles) which seems to take forever on the only road. 15 minutes away, you can find resort shops and other resorts with different venues. Hapuna Beach Prince is a lovely spot for couples.
“Best ever”
The hotel is unbelievable, The most breathtaking view from morning until sunset. Looking out over the grounds, the beautiful pool situated in front of the best beach on the big island. The only thing I say is the hotel is about 8-10 miles from anything so a rental car is a must. Be aware of the daily charge of $15 to park it. If you are going just to relax with the beach, this hotel has it all, just be ready to pay for all the amenities. As a side note, all the rooms face the beach and there is not real need to pay extra for partial view, etc. Sure there may be a palm tree or you may be higher up to have a better view but they are all facing the ocean.
