“Very impressed.”
A superb hotel located at THE best beach on the Big Island. Who can ask for more?
“Great hotel on big island”
This was our first trip to big island and this hotel did not disappoint. When we first arrived we were given two double beds. I immediately went to the desk and asked if there was a king available-which is what we requested. Within 30 minutes we were upgraded for free to a partial ocean view with a king. The view was amazing! The hotel is pretty isolated compared to business of kona. The beach is not crowded on the hotel side and the shuttle to mauna kea leaves every 30 min. We snorkeled every morning and some afternoons. The waves definitely picked up during the afternoon. All of the staff was friendly. We tried several restaurants about 5 min from the hotel and we recommend harbor grill for breakfast and happy hour. Hands down I thought this was the best hotel for the money. I would stay in this area over kona any day if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. If you require lots of activities and stores but less beach time kona might be better for you.
“Great Hotel Resort”
Best beach on The Big Island .Hotel rooms ,service , and golf course make this a super place for a holiday. We will be back again .
“Sharks Only Added to our Holiday!”
This was our sixth trip to Hawaii, our second to the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Without a doubt the beach, adjacent to the Prince Hapuna, is the top beach on the Big Island and probably very highly ranked throughout the entire State. The staff, food, facilities were excellent in every way possible. A unique aspect to the Hotel was the element of choice. When we wanted to "wine and dine" in first class and spend $150.00 for supper we did.....or simply enjoy each other's company on our deck with $3.00 chili (yes....$3.00!!!) we did that as well. The backdrop for their golf course is world calibre......no more picturesque view can be provided to the golfer. With 15 nights in our most recent stay what impressed us the most was how the Hotel, and staff, reacted to the various shark sightings over four different days. We were so very impressed, and appreciative, of the utmost due delegance provided by the life guards, numerous helicopter flights, and ongoing updates. I would never have predicted that shark sightings could actually enhance our vacation and, not for a moment detract from it. And folks, considering that the shark sighting made the news on TV, radio and the front page of the newspaper was my assurance that what my wife and I witnessed was an "event" and not part of a daily routine. Bottom line, a fantastic destination who, in every way imaginable, takes care of their guests.....hats off to ya Hapuna!!!! Norm B.
“best view ever”
loved it. two "disappointing" points : the walk from our room (from most of them) to the parking and to the beach were a bit long.
“Hotel was as good as I expected ot to be”
Hotel was as good as I expected ot to be
“Relax in paradise”
Beautiful hotel. Great beach. Great snorkeling at sister beach across the road. Easy to get to other parts of the island.
“Beautiful spot”
The service was excellent. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pool and beach were kept very user friendly. The only thing we were disappointed with was very high prices on the food and went to neighboring towns for many of our meals.
“Big Island's Best Stay”
If want the ocean with a beach this place is the best. The resort was spotless. The staff was just great. Our room had a fantastic view. We think this the best beach on the Big Island. On our last trip we stayed in Kona but drove to this beach nearly every day.We knew then this was the place to stay. The resort was quiet in the evening but Kona was just a 30 min. hop away. We can't wait to come back.
“Staff was awesome!”
We stayed at the Hapuna during the first week of April. The staff was very nice and welcoming. I've read other reviews stating how bad the staff were, but I found them to be very helpful and nice. I would definitely come back!
