“A great place ina fine location”
We enjoyed the rooms. ( we got upgraded to the Suite.) The setting (a tropical garden) is very nice. The proximity to Volcano park couldn't be better. The nearby community of "Village at Volcano" provided us with some very good, evening, dining options. Conversations over breakfast with fellow travelers were a pleasant start to each day. The breakfast was pretty basic but was priced accordingly. All in all, a great place ina fine location.
“Inn at Volacno”
We spent two nights at The Inn at Volcano, part of The Chalet Kilauea Collection, and it was a wonderful place to stay. Located just minutes from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. There are not many places to stay in Volcano Village, it is a small town, I believe most people stay in Hilo and drive down to the Volcanoes Park. I would highly recommend staying in Volcano Village instead. It is a quant town located in the rain forest and this Inn is a gem versus Hilo which is a city and the hotels are more tourist traps. It only takes a couple of minutes to the National Park and your park access is good for a couple of days. Weather around the Volcano, due the rainforest, is extremely variable, thus if the weather is rainy you can just come back a bit later to see if things cleared up. The hotel has a beautiful garden out front with a koi pond. It also has a communal room with free internet access on their computer or free wireless. The continental breakfast in their nice dining room was very reasonably priced. The continental breakfast included great fresh fruit, local coffee, tea, cereal, bagels, a wide selection of local Hawaiian bread and even homemade bread pudding one of the mornings. We stayed in the Garden Room which was very nice. The bathroom was newly renovated. The room was very large, even had a reading room. Out on the covered patio there was a small seating area along with a microwave and oven.
“Great accomodations!”
My fiance and I stayed at the Inn at Volcano for 6 nights and were more than pleased. We reserved "the garden room" which was extremely spacious and felt like our own private cottage. It even had an extra little room beside the bedroom with a vanity. Our private lanai was like an outside kitchenette and dining room and featured a fridge, microwave, toaster and table settings; great for saving money on dining out. (also if ur a smoker the lanai really helps. The resorts on the big island don't allow smoking even on their patios, but here they even give u an ashtray. If ur not a smoker u'll never smell any1 else's smoke since the rooms are so spread out and u cannot smoke inside the rooms) Overall great value and very comfortable.

“Fun place”
A really different, interesting location and lay-out made this a very memorable stay.
“Beautiful place”
This Inn is close to the Volcanoes National Park. It's a romantic place to stay. The theme rooms are clean and comfortable.
“More like a B&B than a hotel”
Since there aren't a lot of hotel options near Volcano National Park we opted to stay here. I would suggest you call ahead to make sure you're getting one of the suites with a bathroom in your room. We did this and were satisfied, but I did see other rooms that had a community bathroom. The breakfast service was nice with many selections for the $6 we paid. The outdoor scenery was very lovely with a pond and quite places to sit and read if you prefer
“Great Hotel/BB for Volcano's National Park”
This was a great hotel for a quiet and relaxing vacation that is very close to the Volcano's National Park. It is really more of a Bed/Breakfast with private rooms & bath. Clean rooms, quiet area, very relaxing day or night. You wake up to the birds chirping and it is quiet at night with a nice hot tub to enjoy if you wish. The continental breakfast was good and they have a nice lobby/waiting room upstairs. While there were other people in the hotel, you heard very little of anyone else. The close proximity to the Natl Park was great. I would definitely recommend staying close to the Park rather than driving from Hilo. It was very nice to hike during the day, go back and relaxing in the late afternoon, have dinner, and then go back out to the Caldera at night.
“Magic on the mountain.”
A magical setting. The volcano, the rain forest and the grounds made the stay perfect. The decor and attention to detail was amazing. We enjoyed the kitchen on the private lania.
