“Excellent Could not have chosen better”
From the time we arrived until we left the staff were more than helpful. The view from our room F11 was to say the least excellent, everything you needed was nearby in the town overall an outstanding trip. Pity it is so far from the United Kingdom otherwise would go back on a regular basis.
“Highly recommend”
wonderful place to stay
“"Best condo in Kona"”
I always enjoy my stay at Kona Reef, good location, all the amenities you need.
“Quiet and not too expensive”
We stayed at unit C32. This is just what you expect when you want a place to spend nights and have breakfast at, and then leave for the day. The bedroom and kitchen were clean, a bit worn, but everything was there, clean and working - fridge, dishwasher, blender, coffemaker, dishes. AC was only in the living room. Bedroom only had fan. We stayed in winter, so that was fine. Not so sure about the summer. The place was quiet, it's pretty close to center of Kailua, it's 5 minutes walk to the restaurants. We didn't use the swimming pool or hottub at the hotel, but they were definitely there :) The parking is free, they have two levels parking in the buidling plus some spots outside. During our 7 days stay they only cleaned the room and changed the sheets once, but that's what you expect from condo. In general - we were extremely satisfied with the value for our money. I travelled with friends, between 25 and 30.
“Great”
The Kona Reef was Great. We will go back again. It was very clean grounds well kept. easy walk to shops and restaurants. Our unit needs a new mattress, not to bad but could of been better. Other than that it's a great plaace to stay..
“Very nice condo”
From other reviews, it seems that the condos are privately-owned and the condition varies across condos. We stayed in D32 (one bedroom oceanfront) and were very pleased. The unit was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we had a washer and dryer in our unit. The view from the balcony was spectacular. We kept the balcony door open at night to hear the ocean. The resort was in walking distance to activities in Kailua-Kona. There is a beach right next door but it's a bit too rocky for swimming. Swimming beaches are available at the Kailua-Kona marina (about a 15 minute walk) or by driving to one of the many beaches around.
“very satisfied guests”
We loved the room and the ocean view, We are planning to move to Kona in November and will stay at Castle Kona until we find an apartment.
“A great place to stay”
The Kona Reef was a great place to stay and I would recommend to anyone. We plan on going back in six months and will stay there again. Very clean and nicely furnished condos.

“Definitely pay the extra and get an ocean front room! Fabulous views!”
This condo, D8, is a 2-bedroom condo. It was the bottom end unit and was fabulous. The lanai was roomy with two tables and plenty of chairs. We could watch the waves crash not far from the lava rock wall that was the condo's boundary. The cruise ships come by and dock not far on the right. On the left, there were surfers and boogey boarders. It was a wonderfully quiet place to sit and imagine we were in our own home with spectacular views. The space was large and roomy. The kitchen was well-appointed and we wish we knew some people to share the dining room table with. Wouldn't mind owning that condo, to tell you the truth. Wonderful time!
