“Excellent experience”
Comfortable, private room. Innkeeper was an excellent hostess!! Great breakfasts.
“Quiet rain forest cottage”
We stayed 3 nights in the Enchanted Forest room, which was very spacious and private, being detached from the house above the garage. The bed was very comfortable and wonderfully quiet at night. The bed warmer was welcome after visiting nearby Volcanoes National Park, which can be windy and rainy. They think of every detail, with flashlights and umbrellas available (and helpful) to visit the park. Hawaiian music was playing softly on the bookshelf stereo when we checked in. Every morning Kathy had prepared papaya fruit boats that drew everyone to the table and inspired good conversation with other guests. There's a great friendly Aloha spirit to the place and we'll be coming back.
“Good Choice in Volcano”
My two teenagers and I stayed at the Bamboo Cottage in Volcano for two nights in late March 2008. We found it to be very comfortable; the Enchanged Forest (room over the converted garage) had a nice gas fireplace that kept things cozy. There was a clever punch-in code in place of a key. The place even had a friendly cat who wanted to hang out with us. It was quiet and clean, really everything you could ask for in a B&B. The manager acted as an informal tour guide and gave us a tip for lava viewing that made that experience more enjoyable. We were very satisfied and would stay there again.
“Best around Volcano”
What a fantastic place to stay. After meeting Gary, the inkeeper and seeing the care that they take to make your stay pleasant, you will feel really good about having given them your business.
“Outstanding Retreat in Hawaiian Rain Forest”
For our first visit to Hawai'i, we chose to stay at this B&B in Volcano Village, at the edge of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Because of the size of the island, nothing is an insurmountable distance, but coming home to the cottage was a welcome respite from the tourist rush. Breakfast was a highlight of every day, not only for the excellent food, but also for the warm, friendly conversation. Kathy, the innkeeper, was a fount of information and advice, without making these newbies feel uninformed. We would not hesitate to return to this island retreat for another visit.
“Homely, Friendly & Clean Retreat - It's a pleasure to recommend this place”
We were promptly met by our host upon arrival who explained a few things about the area. Then shown to our room which was clean, cosy and included a jacuzzi in the ensuite. We preferred to use the communal one on the front deck. Breakfast was fantastic including freshly prepared local fruit including a large choice of cereals, boiled eggs and english muffins whilst chatting with the guests about our planned adventures for the day. It's a pleasure to recommend this place.
“Wonderfull B&B experience”
If this is the kind of place you are looking for, it is as close to perfect as I've ever seen. The inn is clean and well appointed. The innkeeper is friendly and helpfull without being intrusive. Most importantly for us, it feels like the middle of nowhere and is 10 minutes from Volcano National Park. Go to relax, not to be pampered.
“Perfect place for Volcano's rain”
Perfect place in the rain forest with lots of amenities. We enjoyed the warm fireplace in our room and the excellent breakfast.
“Very Nice B&B near Volcano National Park”
The enchanted Forest room in the hotel is beautiful and nice because it is separate from the main house. It is extremely warm and cozy. If you are there to go to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the location is perfect as it is less than a 5 minute drive there. The Inn is tucked away amongst beautiful rain-forest and very well maintained. No complaints!
“Great B&B”
Breakfast was great. Great place to stay if visiting Volvano Nathion Park. Bed was not the best, but did not have a problem sleeping though the night.
