“The Ridge: Chic, clean & good value but quirky”

On the plus side, modern & nicely decorated, spotless, decent size room with good sports bar (live TV for all major sports events - 6 nations whilst we were there). Great free Wi-Fi too. Good 3 course evening meals (although only one option). Excellent staff and first class on site ski shop for hire and good heated boot room. Bus stop outside, particularly handy for getting to the Ardent lift, which is low crowds and superb for going all ways in Portes du Soleil (except perhaps Les Gets). On the room to improve side, breakfast felt a bit basic (cereal, bread, juice and coffee/tea) and always seemed to be chasing for supplies (milk, coffee, juice etc) - never really quite on top of it. The outside should have been kept ice free, especially slopes in front of hotel and down to boot room - just asking for an accident and a bit lazy. Our room would have benefited from option to have side lighting rather than full on multiple ceiling spots or darkness. Or it would have been darkness with curtains rather just muslin, which meant street lighting in the room. A bit bizarre in what was other an excellent room. The hotel is on the edge of Morzine, so 10mins into town including Morzine lift - not a huge problem. Overall a good great value hotel, which could be made excellent with some fairly straightforward improvements in line with above comments. I would use it again!

“Ridge”

Very friendly and helpful staff. Halfboard food wasn't exiting at all. Breakfast without any ham, cheese or sausages to put on your bread. Great place to go for a weekend break with your rugby/football team mates, but perhaps not with your family or girlfriend.
