“Confort et Plaisir du mieu”
Bel endroit Excellent restaurant A conseiller
“Did not want to leave”
L'Abbeye had charm, history, uniqueness, quality, peace and quiet, a beautiful garden located at the water's edge (Lake D'Annecy), in a quaint, friendly, flower-filled village of Talloires,, with hikes to a waterfall, drive up to a panoramic view of the lake and the snow-covered French Alps, and is just down the block from the world-renowned cuisine of Auberge du Pere-Bise. When can we go back?!
“great spot”
It's a wonderful location and good to feel part of history. It's not over-done and not the fanciest, swishest hotel but exactly what you need and a great place to relax. Don't bother with the hotel restuarant for dinner -it tries too hard and under-delivers.
“Repeat Abbaye Guest”
This is the sixth time that we've stayed at the Abbaye when in the Haute Savoie region. What a wonderful hotel and location. The Abbaye has everything you need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Good resturant and the staff is wonderful and very helpful. Set on the banks of Lake Annecy, it's just a beautiful location. Court yard is very relaxing. You'll enjoy an evening walk around the small village of Talloires. Nearby Annecy is one of our favorite spots in France just 20 minutes away.
“Would stay there again.........no problem.”
Very Good
“Luxury on the lake”
We visited at the end of October and mostly the area was deserted, which made for a relaxing, quiet time. Staff were very friendly from start to finish, the room wasn't quite as big as I expected but the views over the lake from the window more than made up for that. Will definitely be back at some point.
“Great Location”
Lovely hotel on Lake Annecy. We stayed on a Tuesday night and we only found out when we arrived that their restaurant is closed on Monday/Tuesday. Other than that a great place to stay. Breakfast is pricey though at forty three euros.
“Pure elegance!”
What a fantastically sophisticated hotel! Pure elegance! The evening meal was exquisite, but make sure you have enough money to enjoy it - this is not a cheap, or even moderately cheap place! Most of the clientele seemed on the elderly side, but I guess with Geneva close by that's where the money comes from. This was a very special experience and the perfect location for that very special celebration trip. The rooms aren't the biggest, but they are beautiful and ours had a stunning lake view. I wish we had had 2 nights there so that we could have really enjoyed the facilities more. Maybe next time.
“Fab lakeside postion - shame about the pretentious restaurant staff”
Great welcome. Arrived late, car park full but porter couldn't have been more helpful in parking car for us, Reception staff lovely. Room somewhat smaller than we anticipated for the price but woke to superlative view of lake just beyond the shady lunch area and jetty. Worth it for this alone. Clean room. More expensive rooms with balconies looked over garden not lake. Whole stay marred by catering. First dinner extremely expensive for quality of service. Food was superb as far as I can remember but the pace was so wrong that it lost all continuity. Booked table but maitre d couldn't seem to decide where to put us. Staff pompous, overbearing, rigid. Junior staff stood around until their superiors had finished rushing around but achieving nothing. Wine waiter took 45 mins to talk to us, couldn't recommend anything resonably priced and was reluctant to show u sthe wine list. He was loud and arrogant....did NOT create a relaxing atmosphere conducive to enjoying high quality food. Menu changed ONCE a month (in a holiday resort!)so not exactly going to produce the goods in a 6 night stay. Random drinks with an illegible signature added to our final bill- so again poor systems in place. Fabulous setting spoilt by poor management. The whole resort seemed a little pretentious but we are used to more innovative eating out in London!
“Talloires Potential”
The hotel is in a superb location on the lakeside, down a culpde-sac road, with splendid views. The hotel has real historic charm Staff helful However, like many such hotels there is a need to upgrade deteriorating facilities, in the bedroon especially I ticked the "would recommend others to stay" based on it's overall charm and superb location, but it may well be judged expensive in view of some "tired" features currently
