“Chamonix”
Reception staff very helpful and friendly-hotel close to lift. Room was very clean. Have to walk about 5-10 minutes to get to the village center. Had a snow/fog day and could not go on lift but staff gave some great recommendations for bad weather day activities.
“Outstanding customer service & great value”
Loved this hotel. It was reasonable and the staff would do everything possible to ensure a wonderful stay. After experiencing an "attitude" at the Tourist Information offices, we consulted the hotel staff for hiking tips. They were so helpful and seemed to really care. The hotel is beautifully maintained and a great facility. Highly recommended!
“The hotel execeded our expectations every day!”
To quickly sum up our experience: -The clean, comfortable, well appointed hotel was a short walk from chamonix town centre and across the road from a bus to ski slopes - very convenient! -The restaurant was surprisingly great! and the service there was friendly and helpful. We had breakfast there most days and a dinner 1 night - we expected very nice, but got amazing! -The hotel bar is comfy, well appointed and the bar staff were always nice & chatty. It overlooks the heated ppol and spa that were great after a day of skiing. Robes, slippers and clean towels were always available. -The room was clean & tidy. it wasnt so big, but it was comfortable and it was all we needed. -The only flaw was Marlene at reception. She was rude and unhelpful, getting information from her was like pulling teeth and her body actions and explanations showed us and 3 other guests who were also at reception while we were there that she didnt want to help. Thankfully, she was unlike any other member of staff there who were all so nice, friendly and really helpful (avoid her at reception and your stay will be perfect!) -If your skiing in Chamonix and want to ski in Italy youll have to work hard, there are only 2 buses that go there everyday & they are always fully booked days in advance, a terrible system, we couldnt get on that bus for the 5 days we were in Chamonix. Push the hotel staff to call every morning for you to try to get you a spot, maybe youll have more luck that us.
“Best Western...No, Best Alpine!”
I stayed at the hotel in Sept '10 for 3 nights at the end of a 30 day EEU walkabout. The hotel was exceptional, clean, a fantastic service mentality by the workers, and a full run of ammenities. I used it as a base for hiking the Mont Blanc mountains. Nothing nicer than coming home after a day in the mountains to a hot tub, pool, sauna, a bar, and a clean hotel. Bonus was that it was only about a 3 block walk to the Chamonix pedestrian mall with all the restaurants and retail anyone could ever ask for in a ski resort. Great find, and I highly recommend it.
“Great location”
Great location within a block of the gondolas up the mountain, close to the quaint downtown and restaurants. Free parking across the street was a nice bonus. The first room they gave us had a funky smell but a great view of the glacier. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to a different room; no view but very comfortable. Skip the hotel breakfast and enjoy coffee and a pastry at a local bakery.
“Gem in Chamonix”
After visiting Aiguille Du Midi that is very close to the hotel, I can relax with free Sauna at the hotel. It feels really great because I felt a little bit cold at the top of Aiguille Du Midi. The staffs are really friendly and attentive. The room and hotel facilities were generally very clean and comfortable. Also, the hotel rent a bicylce for free. As you may know, Chamonix is a relatively small town and bicycle is good enough to explore town and nearby. The only one thing that I missed is the view of Mont Blanc from my room.
“Good Hotel”
Good hotel and reasonable price. Quite far away from town centre (15 min walk) but acceptable in warm weather condition.
“Simple elegance in a small town”
This hotel was about 600 yards from the train station, and was no problem walking with pull luggage. Everyone spoke excellent English that we encountered. Laundry room on site was a real plus. Meals were fantastic in their attached restaurant. Comfortable clean rooms looked out on magnificent views of the mountains. Cow bells could be heard in the middle distance and sometimes just outside the window (October, during our stay, they were near the village).
“can't wait to go back”
Sauna and swimming pool are the best addition after the hiking and skiing. The room had great views of the mountains and was nicely furnished and quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Modern hotel, attentive staff”
We were very pleased with Les Aiglons - recent modernization was great - comfortable room. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Great breakfast (petit dejourner). Enjoyed the pool after a long day of traveling.
