Please Don't Stay Here!!

Posted 9-Jul-2014
We booked online for the essence festival. I will never stay their again. The hotel is not kept up. Trash and dirt was through the hallways and the next door neighbors smoked weed all night and day. The worse hotel/motel ever and it was extremely too high for what we got.

Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

Pros: Not a thing!
Cons: Renovating the whole hotel.
The room was so musty smelling when we opened the door. The electric outlets were coming out of the wall. The hair dryer did not work, and no iron or ironing board. The bathtub did not have a mat or a non-stick surface so it was slippery when taking a shower. Not easy to take a shower for my daughter who has special needs. We stayed for 3 nights, I should have only paid for 1 night and then checked out the others in town. When we got back to the room at night my key card would not let me in so I had to walk all the way around the hotel to get to the office. Once I got there and told the girl at the desk that my key wouldn't work she was just like oh sometimes that happens and fixed it. But then went on to say I could talk to the manager the next morning. For our final night there the same thing happened with key. So yet again I went around to the office and complained. There was a different girl there and she said they are older keys.....um not my problem, get new ones then. The people that they had at the front desk looked like they were high school kids and really didn't give a crap or not. Just said talk to the manager the next day. We are going back in February but there is no way in this world I would stay here. A real big dump of a hotel!

Very disappointed

Posted 25-Jun-2014
I didn't have hot water when I got up to shower. Lamp cover broke and was just laying around. Stain chairs and linens. Sprinklers had towels stuff in them to fill the whole in the ceilings!

Just an average hotel

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: nice swimming pool, not that far from the superdome and enough stores and eating places around the area, very close to the highway and seemed safe
The rooms were nice and clean, the staff pleasant, but not really customer oriented. They were not customer service excellent. Had to request a iron to days in a row to finally get one. Breakfast disappoint, no hot food, like eggs, sausage or bacon. Expedia did say contenential breakfast. Bathroom door open in the area where we ate breakfast and very dirty and stink. Staff just sitting around not really working. Had to go down and get our own towels at the desk, didn't like that.

Some investment needs to be put in the structure and building of the hotel, more lighting in the outside hallways of the hotel.

Worst hotel stay EVER

Posted 6-Jun-2014
Pros: Nothing! Initially price, but I regretted not paying more for a more appealing and clean environment. When its to good to be true, it really is.
Cons: Everything. The hotel was horrible, dirty etc. Also, move the dog from the lobby area. Really?
Location: Louisiana was fun. I would definitely want to visit the city again, just not in this hotel. Lesson learnt.
Whilst the cost of the stay was not expensive, I did expect some sort of value for my money. The overall feel of the hotel was dirty and grimy. However, one would have expected the lobby and breakfast area to be the focal welcoming points. This was truly disappointing. The lobby was extremely smelly, and having the unkept looking dog (and its toys in plain site) did not add to the ambiance. The breakfast area was also dirty. I couldn't imagine meals were being served in there. Also, upon closer look I discovered stale bread was being provided (who knows what else was stale). Additionally, I asked for a non-smoking room, but walked into a room reeking of cigarette smell. Had to be relocated. I can go on and on (yes there was that much). To sum it up, the experience was HORRIBLE. Its worth it to pay more for a better hotel so that you can truly enjoy the Louisiana experience.

Budget hotel, good for short trips

Posted 25-May-2014
Pros: Clean room, and everything as advertised
Its situated on the other side of the river from downtown and you get what you paid for. The rooms were clean and convenient. I stayed one night and only used the room to crash and shower so it was perfect for my trip. Also need a car to access the hotel. It has 2 pools and had pretty good occupancy the day I went. The complimentary breakfast was minimal but satisfactory. Matched expectations. Free wi-fi as well, but if you are planning to use the room for more than just crashing for the night, then I would look elsewhere

Mixed Feelings for Accommodations

Posted 24-May-2014
Pros: Clean rooms, good hospitality, pool, shuttle, breakfast, nice staff.
Cons: Keep the dog home or the lobby (the first room you walk into to make the first impression) and shuttle van clean and rid of doggy and cigarette odor!
The staff were very hospitable and nice, and rooms were clean and comfortable; however, the lobby smelled really bad of doggy odor and cigarettes. Also, the shuttle van smelled very strong of doggy odor and the smell was so bad that it soaked into my clothing, after sitting on the shuttle, and made my clothes (me) smell like a stinky dog. It was embarrassing as my son and probably others could smell it on me! :(
