Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel staff very nice and friendly, room is clean, breakfast also good. They help me to prepare early breakfast for me when I check out and rushing to airport early morning.

Terrific service. Offers a fantastic breakfast-to-order. Staff helped give detailed instructions for a walking tour of Hanoi. Staff also helped change currencies and book our tour to Halong Bay (albeit we weren't impressed by the tour provider, Viola Cruise.) Location is situated in the old center of Hanoi, perfect if you're a tourist. Room was okay, not great, but very reasonable given the price point.

We checked in late and the hotel staff was amazing from get go! If we had any problems, they were solved within minutes! Breakfast was great with lots of options to choose from. I highly recommend it.

Perfect stay in the Old Quarter
This is the perfect accommodation in Hanoi's Old Quarter - from the moment our taxi pulled up to the front door we felt very welcomed by the helpful staff. They provided great information about where to go in our limited time and let us store our bags before our room was ready for check-in. The room itself was clean with modern facilities. Breakfast was included, with a great selection of both Vietnamese and Western options. Thanks for a wonderful stay and I look forward to coming back!

Friendly spot in Hanoi
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel - staff are very friendly and on hand for any help you require. The breakfast they serve is great - your choice of eggs cooked to order along with cereal, toast, fresh fruit and juices. The internet worked really well and our room was clean, comfortable and fitted with a safe and fridge. There is a tour desk in the hotel - we didn't use this but there were people available for any questions. They arranged an airport pick up and taxi for onward travel. Good location within the old quarter and a short walk to the lake - the mopeds on the road outside are crazy but it is Hanoi!

The service at this hotel is very charming the staff are very helpful and speak great English. It is a good hotel for the price but definitely get a room on the front of the building and as high up as possible as they are full of light.

The hotel was a little old, but clean. We were out all day so it was only for sleeping. The bed was as hard as a rock. Very uncomfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location.
A gracious, caring staff, great location, spacious, attractive rooms, and nice testaurant makes this an excellent choice for Hanoi's Old Quarter. 10 minute walk to the lake. This is my home away from home in Hanoi.

Good friendly base for exploring Hanoi
We like this hotel it's a warm friendly base for exploring Hanoi. The staff are exceptionally good and very cheerful and helpful. The rooms super clean and the neutral decor pleasant. The buffet breakfast was fine and the freshly cooked items were delicious. Ask for a room on a higher floor if possible.

Conveniently located in hanoi old quarters
Very knowledgeable staff for recommendations on attractions, restaurants, and tours. Able to hold luggage while you're away on an overnight trip. Great breakfast! Front desk can also help do currency exchange. Comfortable beds.

Stayed one night prior to Halong cruises, which was arranged by the hotel staff. Very prompt responses from Kate and friendly staff. Was greeted by name and was able to wash up after cruise prior to flight out later that night. Would recommend to anyone.

Stayed for 2 nights. Really liked the hotel staff. Very attentive, caring and friendly. Room clean and very comfortable. We loved the Vietnamese breakfast selection, delicious !! Perfect for people who do not want to stay in a big international hotel chain as this hotel is cosy and felt like staying in relative's home.

The hotel was rather small but staff made up for it with service. The hotel is in a extremely busy place where saftey from being hit by motor bikes was high. Not a place for children.

Staff services was good and very informative. Hotel room needs more improvement such as beds that has protruding frames that caused painful bumps, non working lights, complicated shower system and aircon that didn't seem to link to the remote control, noise of luggage rolling and cigarettes smell that woke my friend from her sleep.

Hotel with friendly staff & in convenient location
Stayed here for 4 nights. Location was excellent. Walking distance to endless street food in old quarter, Hoam Kiem lake, Thang Lung puppet show. Easy to get around. Staff makes you feel very welcomed at home. Good and tasty breakfast selection. Only issue we had was water seepage and leakage from the room ceiling which I believe was an isolated incidence.

Best value for money. The staff and hotel were excellent! The hotel let us leave our luggage free of charge for our trip out to Halong Bay even though we weren't returning to stay. I'd highly recommend this hotel !

The staff really go above and beyond in this hotel and treat everyone individually. They really go out of their way to help you. The rooms are good quality, clean and there is free wifi. Guaranteed to get a warm friendly welcome every time. Brilliant hotel.

Lovely oasis in a great location
We spent 6 nights in the Charming 2, in 3 different rooms (due to changes in our travel plans). The first room, considered "superior" was in interior room without windows, which turned out to be very quiet and just fine. The second room, only for one night, was on the same floor as reception and was a bit noisy. The final room was on the street side with a large window and was really lovely. All three rooms were very clean and well appointed (outstanding bedding!). But - the true selling point for this hotel is the staff, as many other reviewers have noted. Chang and Mary were extremely kind and helpful, as were all of the other people who helped us whose names I can't remember. We left Hanoi feeling like we'd love to return if only to see these people again! I hope they can stay as good as they are.

Only a one night stay but no dramas, everything went according to plan. Our baggage didnt arrive off the plane and the staff were extremely helpful in this regard. They went out of their way to make phone calls to the airlines for us etc

Excellent little hotel in old town
We were first in the honeymoon suite on the top floor (801) which was nice but the constant noise from the street was an issue. We then got the same room but on the floor below which was much better as the balcony door was a better fit so reduced the noise. Same layout but seemed more spacious. Great location in terms of old town and the staff were incredibly friendly and healthy. Traditional Vietnamese breakfast was nice and few other continental and cooked options which were sufficient to ride you over until lunch. Would stay here again. Use the laundry service, well worth the few dollars to have nice clean clothes!

Clean,pretty central hotel with exceptional staff.
Excellent standards of hygiene, service, flexibility, friendliness and helpfulness. Aside from giving advice and bookings for taxis, excursions etc., hotel staff also assisted with things like getting a basic phone and Vietnamese sim card. Breakfast is an excellent generous variety, from Vietnamese rice or soup, to more Western eggs,bacon,French Toast, croissants and always plenty of fresh fruit, wonderful selection of juices and tea and coffee. We used this place as a base for business as well as 3 day excursions to Sapa and to Cat Ba island. It felt like coming home on return to Hotel Charming 2, especially when staff made our room available as early as possible so we could shower and rest after overnight train travels. Additional luggage left behind securely. No other hotels or hotel staff we visited compared to Hotel Charming Two.

Like most, we had 2 nights in Hanoi at the beginning and end of Halong Bay tour. First hotel was a disaster - similar star ratings and many recommendations which I now believe were fake. Luckily, we didn't book that hotel for the return. Selected Charming 2 and it absolutely lived up to its positive reviews. Staff greeted us warmly and helped us with our bags from taxi/shuttle and up to the room. Room was large (2 beds), clean and well lit. Bathroom was also very nice (and clean). WiFi (free) which we have found to be problematic in many hotels in Vietnam was good. Location of the hotel is great. We decided to do a restaurant crawl of some of the top rated local food (pho, bun bo, bun cha, etc) places in the Old Quarter. We hit 4 highly regarded shops/restaurants all of which were within 5-10 minutes' walk from the hotel. We had an early flight out of No Bai and the hotel helped arrange an early taxi - which arrived exactly on time. Unfortunately, with early flight did not get to try the breakfast (included). Very pleased with our stay at Charming 2.

Best small boutique hotel in Hanoi.
The rooms are nice sized and very clean. The entire staff is focused on helping you have the best stay possible. Special thanks to Mary. I had a sinus infection when I arrived in Hanoi and she walked several blocks to the pharmacy with me and translated my medication needs to the pharmacist.
