We came in from a long flight and journey; approximately two days,anrrived ant 10.40 pm, only to be greeted with, we have no reservation for you. Showed the booking, then to be told there are no more rooms, but you can walk two minutes to another partner hotel. Said to the clerk, that we just paid a taxi to arrive here, coupled with the fact that it was raining and it was our first time in Germany. He made a call and said a taxi would come soon, just wait outside to flag the taxi. Taxi arrives, but refuses to take all three of us, with our three pieces of luggage. Said one of you would have to walk; with luggage;only two minutes away and proceeded to give directions. No choice at this stage but comply as all you want to do at this stage is get to your destination. Upon arrival at the other hotel, issue again with the taxi driver about payment, which had to be settled by the hotel. Not a very warm welcome to Germany. Must say though that the clerk at the partner hotel was satisfactory. Gave the basic information about room number and breakfast. NOT ONCE DID ANY MEMBER OF HOTEL STAFF OFFER ANY TYPE OF APOLOGY Actually don’t see why I have to pay for this type of service.

I had a pretty good stay. The hotel is certainly dated - the carpet, foundation, walls and doors are old. It is quite clean despite how it looks. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Close to main train station, can be noisy at night.

Although close to the station and in walking distance from all must see places, there are some downsides. The room doors are paper thin and so the noise from the corridors is quite loud especially as lots of guests wake up and leave early.( no need for alarm clock) The breakfast room is quite small, so a bit hard to secure a seat especially if you travel alone as by the time you get a coffee someone else might have taken your chair. The food options are minimal, but enough to get you going in the morning. They could invest in a coffee machine as the filter one is way too weak.

Renovated from old building has charm. Family room for 5 was big & very comfortable. Includes elevator. Breakfast was quite good overall. Breads were wonderful. Scrambled eggs was done well. Other choices of meats, fruit mix, cereals and hard boiled eggs. If you opt not to have rooms cleaned, they give you vouchers for beverage.

Pleasant Stay
Pleasant stay. I was in a top level room. It was dark and had awkward low sloped ceilings. Clean, serviceable, but not extraordinary. Convenient location near the main train station.

I liked that I booked for 4 PAX and I has receive 2 rooms for same price that was more convenient and comfortable for us. I suggest only to have more options of water in breakfast because we could not find still water, all was fine.

Harry Potter-like room
Very small, closet-size room but clean and with an ok comfortable bed. No luxury, and fine if you are just there to sleep. The breakfast is basic and does not offer vegan options, so if you are lactose intolerant or vegan, find another place to eat. The hotel is within walking distance from the main train station and restaurants.

Located close to the main city and Alster lake, it was easy to walk for all amenities and places to visit. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.

there was no air-conditioning while our room was very hot. The room was good and so was the bathroom. The front desk was not very helpful in giving us ideas of where to eat or where to go

Overall a nice stay
The hotel was overall a pleasant experience. It is within 5mins walking distance to the train station but we weren’t aware of any train noise. It was a surprisingly busy street even though it seemed like a small side street. It is just around the corner from the lake and park which has paths to walk and the option to hire boats. The breakfast area was clean and the staff there attentive and friendly. Good selection of bread cheese and meats as well as cereals. Breakfast was on from 6.30 - 11 at the wkend which meant we had time to do the local parkrun and return in time for food! The bedroom was small but the ceiling was high and the window opened wide so even in the heat we could cool the room. Room was clean but could do with an update especially the carpet.

This was a beautiful hotel in Old town hamburg. The streets were quaint and stunning. The location was excellent as it was near lots of dining. While parking is not free, there were plenty of spots to park around on the metered parking. The staff didn't speak english as well, but we were able to communicate overall. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a bell tower where the bells go off every 15 minutes or so, but we did not mind. This ends at 9pm, and starts again at 8 or 9 am. It was not an issue for us, and we rather enjoyed the cultural aspect of it. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic feel of Hamburg.

Very disappointing stay
The room was very tiny, you could hear the neighbors talking loudly on the phone until past midnight, as clearly as if you were in the same room. The bathroom was incredibly narrow. The room's carpet was incredibly dirty. The mattress you could feel the springs through and the covers made me incredibly itchy. Continental breakfast could only be described as oh so very sad. I had a slice of what looked like turkey cold cuts, turns out it was just discolored ham. Perhaps identifying the items would be good in the future?

Carpet was clearly very dirty. It had a faint smell and walking on it with white socks turned them grey.

Fint hotel
Hotellet er godt placeret tæt på banegården og tæt på mange gode restauranter. Fint område i centrum af Hamburg og dermed gå afstand til meget. Personalet var ret intet sigende, ikke meget smil eller hej og farvel når man kom og gik fra hotellet. Morgenmads buffeten var ganske fin, den havde det man skulle bruge for at starte dagen godt. Værelset var relativt småt, men fint til os, derudover er det temmeligt lydt, særligt fra gangen. Så medbring ørepropper, hvis du er lysfølsom. For at håndtere Corona bar restaurant personalet plastisk engangs handsker, hvilket blot gav en falsk tryghed, når de alligevel piller ved deres masker, krydser gæster af og drikker pause kaffen med de samme handsker uden at skifte, samtidig med at buffeten blev rettet og fyldt op.

Friendly staff throughout the stay. Were helpful when i asked for extra pillows and allowed me to take my breakfast up to my room when there was nowhere left to sit. The room was very clean and the facilities were perfect for the stay. A little noisy when it came to other guests but got enough sleep every night. Breakfast was cute and full of choices, thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall the stay was just as I expected and i hope to come back some day! Danke!

The location was perfect, just walking distance from the train station and from the main attractions in Hamburg. The area had a lot of charm and choices for food and entertainment. The room was spotless and cozy. Breakfast was decent and varied. I'll come back soon.

I wouldnt recommend this hotel for the rude and unhelpful staff. The location of the hotel is good. It's at walking distance from the central station but the lady at the reception is absolutely rude. If you are someone who expects any service (like a restaurant or warm water or charger or absolutely anything to be honest) this is not the place to stay. Room amenities are very basic and there are definitely many more decent places to stay in with trained and professional staff.

Wouldnt go again
Queen room far too small. Unable to open the wardrobe properly because of the bed. The shower far too small with a shower curtain. Staff not helpful. At checkin he couldnt wait to get back outside to his cigarette didnt even show is where the lift was. However the hotel (more of a b&b ) was really clean and in a great location. No bar or restaurant facilities but plenty near by
