“Not new, but maturity in style and ambience”
I was fortunate to find the Lord Nelson as my place to stay in Halifax. The classic hotel style is very inviting and after having been there, the other, newer hotels of Halifax seem very streamlined. Except that the WiFi internet was an additional charge (while other hotels offer this as free service) there is nothing that I would want to change with the Lord Nelson.
“Close to the hospital-4 min walk.”
Very good hotel...close to the hospital (where I had business). Only one concern...since I was getting back to my room late and hungry I tried to order room service at 12:30 am and I wasn't able to. Also breakfast could've been a bit earlier then 7:00. But the were places to go very close so these are very minor gripes.
“A very pleasant experience”
The hotel is located on Spring Garden Road, a vibrant shopping and dining area. It is about a ten minute walk to the Halifax Harbour, which also contains shops and restaurants as well as pleasing scenery. The hotel is across the street from the public park and very near the historic Citadel Hill. The hotel is an old property but has been well maintained and has an old World charm.
“Can't wait to go back”
Great place! Comfortabe! Clean! High quality!
“Perfect Location”
We unexpectedly had to make a trip to the Passport Office and I was looking for a hotel downtown. This place is in a perfect location from the Passport Office ( about a 7 minute walk). The room (9th floor) was quite comfortable, albeit small and the bathroom was very compacted. I love the standard late checkout (1pm)! Hotel staff were courteous and efficient.
“Unexpected luxury”
The hotel has been renovated and done in superb taste. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was beautifully appointed. One of the nicest rooms we have enjoyed and we have done a lot of traveling. Too bad it is so far away from California!
“GREAT hotel-EXCELLENT location”
the lord nelson staff was EXTREMELY courteous, helpful and professional-great location right across the street from the beautiful public gardens and about a mile from the waterfront. the food at the hotel was also very good-and there are several excellent restaurants in the neighborhood-i HIGHLY recommend this hotel
“Great Place to Stay in Halifax”
The Lord Nelson Hotek is centrally located and easy to find. The service and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding. We have stayed there several times and have always been happy with the rooms and the service.
“Classy in a great location”
If you can get a good deal on this hotel it is soo worth it. It is right near everything that you will be doing in downtown halifax!!
“Perfect location and friendly staff”
Great experience considering that the hotel was hit by a hurricane of our arrival. The gracious staff quickly alerted us to an alternate venue. Location is right across from the Public Gardens and beautiful spot for walking throughout the city. I hope to have a room with a view the next time!
