It's important to fully read the title and description of the room type you're booking, so that there are no surprises when you check in. Hi Ahmed, While we appreciate that not everyone has a credit card, this policy is standard practice in Nova Scotia and beyond. Everyone who has a guest room, pre-paid or otherwise, needs to provide either a credit card for us to place a hold on, or a cash/debit deposit. This is for liability reasons - if a guest were to smoke in, or otherwise damage their room, without a credit card or deposit we would have no way to recoup the cost associated with that. While this doesn't happen often, it -does- happen, which is why it's a standard policy for most Canadian hotels. We regret to hear that you found this policy upsetting, but if you stay elsewhere in Nova Scotia you can expect to run into this again.

When a guest uses a room/bathroom and subsequently requests a change to another room, we must clean and refresh the original room. There is a cost for this and thus the modest 50 fee.
