“Good location in Halifax”

This hotel is walking distance to shops, restaurants, attractions. The beds are very comfortable and the front desk staff were very helpful. Our suite was quite large but the carpet and drapes could use an upgrade. The room was clean but there were towels and and a shower cap on the back of the bathroom door from a previous guest. We ordered room service for breakfast but the tray did not include salt/pepper or ketchup. We were on the second floor facing the street and could hear the beat of the music from the nightclub on the next street which continued till after 1 AM.

When to go

Check out the Gasperau winery near Wolville- about an hour's drive from Halifax

Dining

Il Mercato was great on Spring Garden. Also food at the Triangle pub was good and reasonable. Restaurant SAEGE was very good. Go for brunch- Lobester Eggs Bennie and Lobster frittata both great.

“Great Place”

We stayed here for the Reba concert, it is very convient and in a good location!! Huge room and would stay her again! within walking distance to the Metro Centre and the waterfront!!

“Radisson Suite Hotel Halifax”

A/C was poor, beed was very uncomfortable and noisy when you moved. Lighting was poor and room decor was dull and dark.

Area recommendations

downtown area was fine, just pick a different hotel.

“Recommended Hotel & Location”

A few blocks from the waterfront the hotel is ideally located. Bars and restaurants are all around as well as a facility in the hotel (but not owned or run by them). The suite had everything we needed and was clean and well presented. The only down side was the Gym and pool – the gym equipment has seen better days and the room is very hot and they only have a fan mounted on the wall. The water temperature in the pool whilst we were there was chilly to say the least. Parking is by valet at an overnight charge but street parking is available after 6PM Mon – Fri and at weekends / holidays. Overall I would have not hesitation recommending this Hotel (Suite) to others.

Area recommendations

Walk the waterfront and just enjoy. Eat the seafood!

“Great location”

My friend and I were very pleased with the hotel. (I also stayed at the Radisson in Helsinki.) The location was excellent - within walking distance of the landmarks and some nice restaurants. We were thrilled that we had two TV sets, one in the bedroom and another in the living room. The microwave was also a plus. On our first night a staff brought a bathrobe, stating that there's only one bathrobe in the room. Since we did not find any bathrobe in the closets, my friend requested another one for herself. We went out and came back after a couple of hours and got a shock - the door was wide open! My friend reported it to the front desk. My friend believed (when she made the request, she was informed that the housekeeping staff were already off but a bathrobe would be delivered) that the person was such in a hurry and strongly opened the door on his/her way out. The door got stuck and failed to close automatically. Since nothing was missing from our luggages, we didn't dwell on the incident. Inspite of the door issue, we would still happily recommend Radisson to friends. Must see places outside Halifax - Peggy's Cove & Lunenberg - stunning scenery!

“Great location--a little worn”

Perfect location, two blocks downhill (Halifax is a little hilly) to the center of the harbor area, easy walk to the Casino to the left and the cruise ship area, farmer's market and museum to the right. Two or three blocks uphill to the Citadel (but another long uphill walk to the actual entrance--we went there on a bus tour). The lobby,halls and room were clean, the staff friendly and helpful and there is a nice restaurant on site. It was nice to have the separate sitting room and 2 TVs since I stay up later than my husband. The only negative comment is that the whole hotel needed redecorating, the room needed a splash of color, the couch and chair were uncomfortable and the lighting was not good for reading in the sitting room. I would recommend it, you don't spend much time in your room and the location is great.

Area recommendations

The whole downtown and harbor area is easy to walk around. From the Casino to the cruise ships along the water is a leisurely 30 -40 minute walk. I would recommend a City tour. We also had a private taxi tour to the Bay of Fundy and another to Lunnenburg and Peggy's Cove.
