“Very accommodating”

We had a good experience overall. The first night we were in a room with a connecting door to another room, and there was no soundproofing. After we talked to the manager (second attempt at switching rooms), they were able to find us another room. Then later on in our trip we left a jacket in a nearby restaurant, and the hotel staff did everything they could to help us get it back. Very happy with the service overall. Hotel is also comfortable, close to a lot of restaurants and the piers. Just make sure when you book to ask for a room without a connecting door.

Area recommendations
between the citadel and the water would be the most convenient for most of the sights (farmers market, immigration museum, maritime museum, citadel, and point pleasant park). Stay away from the area west of downtown, we walked from downtown to the hydrostone neighbourhood and the neighbourhoods we passed through were a little rough. Hydrostone itself is fine, but don't expect more than a block of shops that close by 5pm.

“Great Hotel”

Great location; staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. They offered to, and sent us a "care package" as our luggage arrived late at the airport and was delivered to the hotel by the airline the following day. Large rooms and very comfortable beds & linens. We had a problem with the remote control and called the front desk - a maintenance staff person came to our room and replaced it within minutes. Excellent (but expensive) restaurant downstairs, "Gio". I would certainly stay this hotel again!

Area recommendations
many places to see: Citadel, Waterfront, Spring Garden Road, among other places. beautiful city!
When to go
We went in August and had great weather. be sure to eat lots of seafood!

“Best of the Bunch”

We stayed in eleven hotels over our two week vacation and the three nights spent at the Prince George were by far the best! It is a great location with a fantastic view and a gorgeous room. The staff were amazing! My husband goes outside to smoke and had a great time with the concierge. The directions they gave us to get to the homes of relatives were better than the GPS. Would definitely book this one again.

What to pack
Be sure to take a jacket and a sweatshirt. In the middle of August we almost froze at the Citadel!

“Great Hotel”

Wonderful hotel located close to everything, you really don't need a car although there is parking at the hotel. Staff was helpful and attentive, the hotel was modern yet classy. A great hotel for travelers exploring Halifax and from what I noticed, a great hotel for business persons.

“Fabulous hotel!”

We did not know what to expect when we booked this hotel, but were pleasantly surprised by all aspects of our stay there. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, spacious and quiet. We loved the view we had from our room, it overlooked Halifax harbour. Parking was easily accessed and stalls available at all times of the day. We left the charger to our cell phone at home and the staff provided us one at no charge. I really appreciated having a recycling box in the room. Overall a great place to stay when visiting Halifax! Restaurants, pubs, shops as well as the harbor front, all within walking distance of the hotel. Great nightlife accessible, without worrying about taking taxis.

Area recommendations
Be sure to visit the Citadel, parlament bldgs, harbor front, farmers market and Spring Garden road. Amazing sight, wonderful food and great shopping, all within walking distance of the hotel.

“Recommended, but not on the waterfront.”

Set a bit back from the waterfront but just below the citadel
