The pictures definitely are old. The rooms do not look like theu do online. Small bathrooms. Rooms not cleaned after each night.

Very nice stay, close to everything and rooms were Awsome. Pool was great as well as the bar and the restaurant. Only slight turnoff was the homeless guy that was rambling to himself around the outside for the whole 2 nights we were there. Made us feel uneasy, I'm sure he was harmless but was still sketcky

Just barely average. Dated, room card problems, parking is terrible, pay by the day and in and out trips must be validated? Didn’t try it. Felt like car was held hostage. Close to everything, but the area is very sketchy at night. One elevator broke down, had an enclosure built to close it off, doesn’t look like it will be fixed soon. Rooms are dated, make up service on request and only if staying more than 3 nights, really!? This was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Requested it and was given new towels only. Front desk staff had headphones in while helping us. Overall it’s quite dated, and admittedly my standards are quite high. This hotel does not meet them and we won’t be returning. I booked this hotel because of the ratings and I do not understand how it’s rated so high. I’m sure it was a spectacle in the day, but that time has passed.

Historically, it’s been a very good property and still is, there is confusion. I found this time around with the elevators within the parking garage and the instructions from the hotel. But that’s minor. The room was great. Service was great.

Very comfortable bed! Used to be a given in hotels, but rather rare these days. Also appreciated the good water pressure in the shower, and that it didn't take *forever* to get hot (we were on the 6th floor). Breakfast at the in-house restaurant was also quite good. We will definitely stay here again, good value for convenient location within walking distance of Scotiabank Centre and downtown.

We were there on a sold out night, and people were lined up for check in. Front desk personel were helpful, polite, and extremely efficient. Super comfortable beds and great shower. Wonderful breakfast. We will stay again.

When we checked in I advised that we had free parking and she acknowledged that. We finished check in and went to our room. The next day when we checked out and left the parking garage we had to pay for our parking….we paid as there was no way out if you didn’t and there was a line up behind us. I went back in to the front desk and told them what happened and they told me I should have received a validated parking ticket which I did not. I assumed that I had gotten everything I needed when I checked in. Guest services manager said she would help me and asked for our receipt from the parking garage…guess what? The machine didn’t give us one nor did it give a receipt to the car ahead of us or our friends that paid for parking. They couldn’t refund the money without the parking ticket receipt. So much for being VIP. Our room was clean as was the hotel…having to pay for the parking was our only issue and honestly it’s the hotels responsibility to give us our validated parking ticket especially since I told them we had free parking…not mine to ask for the ticket.

Have stayed a number of times over the last several months. The last few times the lineup for checkin was extremely long and slow. Rooms were not ready when checking in 1hr after the “checkin time”. Hopefully they resolve the checkin issues as hotel is affordable with good parking and an excellent breakfast in the restaurant.

We’ve stayed at hotel Halifax many times before but this stay will be our last. The facilities were dirty and had a weird smell. For the small amount of money we saved by staying here it was not worth it!

I didnt like the fact that for what we paid for the room, there was no microwave, it was suppose to be harbour view but it was construction everywhere. The lobby area was nice, then when you take the elevator up to the floors it reminds me of 1967 days. Also the fact we had to pay 26 dollars for parking for 1 night. Thats a bit insane. Everything else was not bad. Dont think ill be choosing this hotel again though.
