Convenient to Halifax by bridge or transit

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: Comfortable bed, quiet.
Cons: Do something with the second floor public area. It is very shabby.
Location: All of Halifax is nearby, and can be accessed by public transportation.
Our experience was fine, for a one night stopover, but I wouldn't find it so for a vacation experience. We had no oceanview, just a view of a driveway and house next door. We arrived late and didn't go for dinner as there are no restaurants nearby. Hotel's continental breakfast was fine but I note that they are ending this feature soon, and I would expect a cheaper room rate once breakfast is eliminated. Second floor has an odd sitting room next to what I think used to be a large hot tub, now covered with wood. Seems to be a popular hotel for visiting youth teams, but they were well behaved and quiet when we were there.

Great view of Halifax Harbour, Reasonable price

Posted 20-Sep-2014
Pros: View, comfortable beds. Location
Cons: Needs refurbishing - décor is tired
Location: Enjoy a ferry ride to the Halifax waterfront. Easy to reach downtown Halifax
Average Hotel with an excellent view close to the Dartmouth-Halifax ferry. Comfortable beds. The rooms could do with refurbishing. Enjoyed the continental breakfast. I would go back

Blow this up

Posted 16-Sep-2014
First room was still dirty from last visitors. Staff was nice enough but handcuffed by the dive they work in. Old unlicensed vehicles in out door parking look. Never again

Good on a budget

Posted 13-Sep-2014
I was only here one night and it's certainly enough for a quick stay on a budget. The view and location were great as well as hotel staff. I will say, the underground parking was a nightmare. It's so small and you can barely get an average size car in a spot. Your alternative is parking down the street in a random lot. Not impressed with that part. Everything else was fine! Clean room and bathroom.

City hotel close to downtown halifax

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: price and location
Cons: nothing
For the price, this is about the best hotel within walking distance of the ferry to Halifax. The rooms are clean with all the amenities you need. Try and get a city-view room for the evening views. You can park on the street after the meter times (5pm -8am) and save yourself afew bucks. Breakfast included is fine to start your day and the coffee is quite good.

Great location, Dog friendly (no added charge).

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Pros: Price, location, pet friendly, free breakfast.
Cons: The parking garage, but it would be impossible to fix. In the summer, I park in their outdoor lot. SUVs usually can't fit inside (low ceiling).
Location: Great location downtown, and a ferry ride away from downtown Halifax. There's a few nice parks nearby and a Farmer's market on Sat.
I've stayed at this hotels numerous times now because my homeopathic vet is just around the corner and have been happy with my choice every time. If you're looking for a luxurious hotel, this isn't it, but I always get good value for my money here. The location of the hotel is a plus. It's in the downtown core, and is only a few minutes walk to the ferry which will take you to Downtown Halifax for a few bucks. One thing to be aware, though, you can't bring any pets on the ferry. The rooms are a little dated, but they have made some improvements over the last year. All rooms have a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. They also have a free continental breakfast. Nothing fancy, but I always walk away with a full belly.

Nice place to stay at downtown Dartmouth

Posted 2-Sep-2014
The hotel is at great location. Only 5 min walk to the harbour for awesome view (especially at night). The staff are very helpful. Room is spacious with a microwave and a balcony. Bathtub has low edge, quite friendly for seniors. The only complaint we have is the parking. They do offer free underground parking, but the entrance is connected to a very narrow road, and you have to get out of the car to swipe the card. Also parking spots are so packed (we have to all get out from one side of the car). It takes quite a bit of time and skill to get in/out the parking spot and garage door.
