This hotel is adjacent to the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, the Halifax Metro Centre, and the convention center. The harborfront Historic Properties, three blocks away, houses an enticing array of shops and cafés in restored buildings from the late 1700s and early 1800s. Citadel Halifax Hotel has an indoor pool and children's wading pool on site. The fitness center, open from early morning till late evening, was renovated in 2007 and includes a sauna and spa tub.

“The Hotel was very good and employees are quite nice”
This is a very good Hotel and the employees are quite nice. It is colse to downton and other attractions.
“Would definitely go back”
I chose this hotel because of it's fantastic location and was not disappointed. (it is at the top of the hill in downtown and it is great exercise walking up and down to the boardwalk) I was a little hesitant at first to book this hotel because some of the older reviews said it was dingy and old. I stayed in the newer tower part, so I can't comment on the rest of the rooms, but what I saw of the lobby and my room were great. Very clean and updated. The room service was very prompt and I found the food quality great! The ladies that delivered the food were very friendly and offered great advice on things to do around the city. Overall very satisfied and will definitely book here again (although I hope to move to Halifax.....so I will recommend people visiting me to stay here!)
“Inexpensive and central”
Large room, good value for money. Would stay there again. I worked in my room a couple of the days, and the cleaning staff were in and out - did a very thorough job - and I never saw them. Ninjas! Awesome! :) It really is next to the Halifax Citadel, and the area surrounding the citadel itself isn't apparently the best place to be (ie: along Brunswick St.) after dark, but during the day it's great... and in fact, I walked there after hours (I'm a tall guy) and didn't feel like anything was wrong... it was only after I was told that it wasn't the best of areas that I realized that it might not be 100% okay.

I have stayed in this motel , many times and have always been satisfied, i think the only complaint would be it would be nice, if they had the little gift store open in the lobby again, other than that it was great, very close to everything.

I stayed in the business room which had free wi-fi so I could keep up with all the things back home while I was on vacation. Not to mention they threw in a fridge and microwave for free while staying there.

There were some so-so ratings of this hotel, but we found it perfectly acceptable. While it wasn't the newest/coolest hotel in Halifax, it was clean, quiet with very friendly staff.
“Close to downtown; good location in town”
The Citadel was very adequate for my business trip (all day in conference elsewhere) and close enough to downtown/waterfront for wife to go places. It is next to the Citadel Fort and many city bus routes are close. Banks are close. Did not eat there but went to great restaurants nearby. Had brief AC problem but staff fixed that. New AC equipment is coming. Good place to stay. Harbor is downhill as Citadel is on the hillside!
“Plan to go back!!!”
My room was awesome...spacious, spotless and quiet! If you don't mind an extra five minute walk to the many downtown 'sins' of Halifax...this hotel is highly recommended. Two negative comments...they charged an additional $10 per day for parking...and I found the indoor pool too cold to use.
