“An extraordinary and quiet place”
We had only a short stay and felt sorry about it. We are from germany and we enjoyd the luxurious vacation rental and the high level of european standard Bathroom. My boy-friend loved the jacuzzi. To hike down to the waterfall was a big experience. Its a wonderfull place. Far away from the crowds of tourists- extraordinary....And: Management was very helpful with our Questions. Thank you. Next time we will stay longer and bring our yoga friends on this lovely place.
“I will come back”
We spent much more time in our apartment than planned. This vacation rental was really beautiful. Management was helpful and allowed us to eat all the avocado s that we found on the big property. we had only a short stay and felt sorry about it.
“"Can't wait for our next visit "”
The suite was beautiful and well equipped and maintained. The views of the Pacific, the grounds and the pool were amazing. It was a millionaire's view without her price tag. The grounds were extensive and gave us the privacy and room to roam we wanted. The location is isolated and the driveway is somewhat difficult but it all worth it . The staff I dealt with were polite and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is interested in the above amenities.
“Great quiet place in county.”
Nice quiet place in country. Recommend finding in daylight, but directions given are good. If you are expecting room service this is not the place, but if you want something more cabin in the country it is great. Nice waterfall and beautiful setting.
“Very Impressed!!!”
Talk about a vacation in paradise, this resort was inexpensive and luxurious at the same time. I had an issue with finding the place even though the directions were sent to me via e-mail, I forgot to bring them along. Fortunately, the staff is willing to offer assistance at any time (I called them at 9PM). The suite itself was very clean and modern. The outdoor kitchen gave it an old western feeling. The property was covered in tropical fruit trees, plants, flowers, and greenery and behind all of this was the marvelous waterfall! Although it took me about 10 minutes to get there walking, it was well worth it. The view from the pool was also phenomenal. This was an unforgettable experience and I look forward to my future stays here.
“Privacy with a view”
We were given excellent directions via email to locate the property and were pleased to find it in a peaceful and private setting. The view is spectacular, the place is comfortable and well equipped, the hidden waterfall is spectacular, and the privacy is unmatched. We feel very lucky to have stayed and enjoyed this bit of paradise away from the tourism of Hilo. The only suggestion would be to add a box spring to the bed as it is not a platform frame. Other than that it was perfect.
“We will come back for sure”
We loved our stay! Beautiful apartment, totally luxurious! We could hear the waterfall from the lanai and when we walked over to the gulch, the view was very impressive. It’s really big! The hike down is adventurous but we did it and had a swim under the waterfall which was not topped by anything else we did on the BI! We also loved the gorgeous ocean view and the peacefulness of this place. We would recommend this place to anyone and will come back for sure. Thanks.
“Relaxing and off the beaten track”
This place was very unique. You either will like it or not. We liked it. It was north of Hilo and not near any large communities. Although Hilo was only 20 minutes away. The property was located a couple of miles inland off the highway. I called from the Mainland beforehand and they e-mailed excellent directions and the code for unlocking the key to our door. The house is well furnished with comfy beds, a very modern and large tiled bathroom, and a cozy common area. The back deck has a tile floor with a view of the pool and the ocean on the horizon. Stunning. There are bannana trees on the property, mowed lawns, and other local vegetation. Knowing how fast things grow in a rainy tropical environment, I thought the landscaping was well maintained. At first we could not figure out how were to warm up our food or prepare meals. And then our fellow vacationer next door explained there was a separate building with all the new appliances, sinks, countertops, etc . Everything you would need to prepare any meal. I am not sure how we missed this since there is a well placed sign that says "kitchen" on the door step of this building and we walked right by it. The pool is not fancy but deep everywhere and a welcome respite from the humidity after we had taken a walk up the road. You need to enjoy the evening nature sounds. The tree fogs start singing when the sun does down and it is intense. I was fascinated by the sound. But I could see some being annoyed by it. To each his own.
“Quiet Gem”
We visited Hilo at an exceptionally busy time in Hilo's year, and booked this out-of-town unit because nothing was available in town. Lucky us! We bumbled into what might be our favorite new place in more than 20 years of visiting Hawaii at least once a year. It is quiet, clean, comfortable, nicely appointed, and with a view from the Lanai that is like looking into eternity. The night brings a symphony of bird and frog music. We originally intended to spend a lot of time exploring Hilo, but instead spent a lot of time "at home", finding it hard to improve on perfection. The bed is really comfortable. My one criticism: there was no dresser in the bedroom. I put my clothes in a large closet/cabinet in the large, gorgeous bathroom. If I ever have a need of getting away alone for a week of quiet meditation and reflection, this will be the spot. We liked Hilo which is a great little city that runs at a nice Hawaiian pace. On our trip we did not encounter much rain which I understand was another stroke of luck. We want to go back again, stay longer, and next time maybe squeeze in more town time. Also, a trip up to see the Volcano is a must, with a stop at the Volcano Arts Center.
“Luxurious Waterfall and Pool Resort”
I recently stayed (on February 26th and 27th) in the "Hapuna" Suite at the Luxurious Pool and Waterfall Resort. It was an extremely nice place at a good price featuring two bedrooms, a spa bath, and kitchen. The living room was very nice and comfortable with new leather sofas. The staff was very friendly, talkative, and easygoing. The location is absolutely stunning as you can walk to a waterfall in less than 2 minutes. The only downside was the internet did not work for us, although other guests their didn't report that problem. However, the amazing spa bath made up for it as I could sit there and enjoy the evening in the big, comfortable bathtub. The whole house was extremely roomy, and something memorable was the bench outside. It was made from a tree that was sanded smooth but it retained the natural beauty and colors of live trees. It had holes in the back that were natural that added to its overall charm. I remember my sister climbing onto the bench, sprawling out, posing, and askingher dad to take pictures of her, she obviously adored it. Overall it was a great stay and if I were to go back to that part of Hawaii, I would definitely consider staying there again -- M. Alsup
