“Very nice old charming, kind of art deco hotel.”

Lots of renovations going on but hotel is well located, staff is very nice, restaurant is decent. Rooms are clean and spacious.

“Hotel Grand Guayaquil”

Excellent hotel. Room was perfect, service, accomendations ,and food (breakfast buffet) was also very good. Staff was friendly. Nice business center.

“Great surprise.”

To our surprise we were greeted by a driver to take up to the Grand Hotel. I did not realize that I had given them our flight arrival. The bed was wonderful. All of the staff was welcoming and attentive.

“Feeling trapped in Gye”

The hotel was okay but I felt a little high for the location. The deli that they advertised was closed. We ate in the hotel for security purpose and the food was very marginal. I wanted a small dinner salad with my soup . I took two pieces of lettace and two olives for $6.50. I thought I was in New York not a third world country. Two soups , one salad plate and two drinks (one soft and one beer) was almost $30.

“Reasonable room for reasonable rate”

For an overnight stay before transferring to the Galapagos Is. this is a convenient hotel. They offer free airport shuttle service. There was no hot water our last morning there. Maybe a discount for this inconvenience would have been nice.
