Our new project is a Green Hotel. The project began in the middle of 2009, it is the first hotel to implement Green roofs, we have done testing on it and all the other roofs will be changed to Green roofs. Some of the other measures being implemented are the use of recycled paper in all hotel stationary as well as double use of any paper whenever possible. We are also using all biodegradable cleaning products throughout the hotel, in the laundry and housekeeping areas. We are part of a project called CLEAN COMPANY, the objective of which is to gain the acknowledgment of being a company that cares for the environment. There are many factors that come into play for acquiring recognition within the CLEAN COMPANY project, and some of other measures being implemented are:
*Reduction of water flow to the rooms using economizing shower heads *Reduction of electricity use, replacing incandescent light bulbs with more energy efficient ones *Garbage Separation *Working to perfect the use of "gray water" in the laundry department (using the water twice)These are just a few of the measures we are using in order to obtain Green Hotel status
