We were the only guests at the hotel when we arrived and the management kindly gave us an upgrade to a better room, which was quite spacious, with a king-sized bed, small table and two chairs for in-room dining, separate sitting area with a full-size sofa, and a large bathroom with double-sink, shower and separate tub. The room also included a generous supply of free bottled water and use of a Nespresso coffee maker, plus a well-stocked minibar.
The one drawback is that what would have been a wall facing the bed was a glass panel that covered over what had once been a window and small terrace, that now overlooked the kitchen, which includes a long table for chef's events. Consequently, we had noise constantly from mid-morning to mid-evening or later. We mentioned this to the management when we left, and they kindly offered to give us an even better upgrade in the future and discount in the restaurant. But I can't imagine we were the first guests to mention the noise. At the time of booking the hotel, we were not aware that the restaurant is very well-regarded. We did not eat there, except for the complimentary continental breakfast, so cannot comment on the dining experience. The prices in the bar were a little steep for Mexico but not out of line for a large US city. The interior of the hotel, which is comprised of three buildings joined together, is very nice, kind of contemporary colonial, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Location is very convenient, too.
