“Hidden gem”
A great B&B with friendly, laid-back owners who went out of their way to make us welcome. Parts of the house were still under construction when we were there, but this didn't interfere at all with our enjoyment of the stay and it will probably be completed soon, with more rooms available.
“Casa Zuniga”
This place is located up on the hill (close to the Pipila monument. there is a cable car that takes you down to Juarez Theater. this place has a great location, its very quite and yet, very close to the "heart" of the city. the owner, Mr. Zuniga, is very nice and make us feel as welcome as possible. bottom line, this place gives added value in this AMAZING city! and another thing, you can pass on the Mommies museum. it just not worth the time and the money.
“Don't miss this place in Guanajuato”
Rick & Carmen Zuniga offer terrific accommodations at the Pipila monument near the top of the funicular in Guanajuato, Mexico. The view is unprecedented and the breakfasts are true gourmet. Rick built this place himself over several years and opened it a year ago. He is sometimes criticized for lack of TV, but we don't travel to watch TV, so we enjoyed the missing "glass eye". Access to the city below is both fun and convenient, and Rick offered free tickets to the funicular. Rick is an amazing history buff and will eagerly share his knowledge of the abundant history in this area. His walls display murals depicting some of the rich history, and he accompanied us to the silver mine where he explained what took place here over several hundred years. We were in no hurry to leave this interesting city, and we will certainly return and look forward to Rick & Carmen's delightful hospitality.
“Like being home”
This place can't be called hotel, we pretty much felt better than being home. Owners are so kind and looking forward to serve the customers all the time. Food is awesome!! even is still under construction it doesn't interfer with the leisure. Looking forward to return soon!!
“The Finest Time in Guanajuato”
Despite showing up at the doorstep of this charming bed and breakfast at 7.30 a.m. and apparently waking up the owners Rick and Carmen, we were treated with the utmost of courtesy and friendliness by all the staff. Nestled above the Centro Historico of Guanajuato, Casa Zuniga is a delightful place to stay, beginning with the scrumptious breakfasts, which included, depending on the whims of the day, fresh melon and papaya, tortillas, beans, scrambled eggs, fresh salsa, tamales, chiles rellenos, coffee, fresh fruit juice (tasted like guava and orange juice.) Conveniently located by the funicular (a small rail car that you can ride up or down to town) under the Pipila monument, Casa Zuniga is easily accessible to the center of town for those who choose not to walk up and down the 300 step callejon down to the center of town. For those hearty folks who can walk up the 300 plus steps down to the center of town, well that can be an adventure as well. Rick also gave us his inimitable tour and historical take on the town and its place in the history of the struggle for Mexico's independence from Spain, starting in 1810, as well as his analysis of the reasons of said independence struggle. The room was always clean and neat and we felt quite at home there. While you may spend a lot of time away from your room as you roam around the town, the Casa Zuniga can also be a calm respite if the hustle and bustle of Guanajuato should wear you down. We will definitely stay three again!
“Extraodinary”
Casa Zuniga in Guanajuato is a bed and breakfast perched high on the hill overlooking the picturesque city. The view is incredible and it is conveniently located next to the funicular that goes up and down the hill. The house is beautiful and very well kept. It's extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Rick and Carmen and wonderful hosts and the whole staff strives to make a guest's stay memorable. It's quiet, relaxing and welcoming. We were delighted with Casa Zuniga and hope to return.
“New friends at Casa Zuniga”
If you are visiting Guanajuato with your significant other, let me tell you Casa Zuniga is the perfect romantic spot: the view is breathtaking, the rooms are decorated with very good taste and a cozy touch, and it is located very very close to the La Unión garden, where couples have dinner on outside tables listening to mariachis sing their most sentimental Mexican songs. The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming: they make the famous phrase "mi casa es su casa" come to life. Breakfast is the best we've had, not even 5 star hotels serve such varied and delicious meals. We most definitely will be coming back and recommend this wonderful hotel.
“Excellent accomodation and location”
Not much point in getting expansive., It was a truely wonderful place to spend four days - the owners Rick and Carmen could not have been more helpful . I wish them well.
“A good way to know Guanajuato”
Very friendly atmosphere, very clean rooms and bathrooms, excellent Mexican breakfast, and a very interesting city tour offered by Rick. I would recommend the place to everyone.
“We will gladly go back to Casa Zúñiga”
My wife and I were looking for a quick overnight "getaway" in the city of Guanajuato, and Casa Zúñiga was just what we wanted. The owners are so friendly and helpful, quick with stories of the city's history and suggestions for sight-seeing (including ideas not found in any of the regular tour books). The view from our balcony was great for watching the sunrise. Breakfast was homemade and tasted great.
