“I Loved Luna Lena!!!!”
When we first arrived it was around 10pm and the night reception/guard did not speak any English, so we were a little bit confused. Our room wasn't like a resort or anything and it was a little musky, but no bugs or anything and there was everything we needed and a/c. The location was soooo great in proximity to everything. A little beaten path, but safe and frequented area. In the morning, we realized how close we were to the beach and the shops and it was awesome. Then we started meeting the staff and they were so friendly and helpful. My wireless was not picking up a signal...and they really took the time to help get it going. The pool was a bit older, but it was fine...we actually hung out a few times and relaxed there...but mostly walked to the beach. The breakfast were fresh fruit and granola, toast and coffee...for free and The host was sweet as can be. We even had dinner there one bight and it WAS AMAZING! Peperocini....yummy. We loved it there. I would STRONGLY suggest a bungalow...no matter what!
“Great Location”
Great hotel, definitely not luxury if you are looking for that. Owners were wonderful and helped with anything we needed. There was an issue with ants in the room so be prepared. BUT... what do you expect, it's Costa Rica! Overall, great experince and location.
“Insect Infested & dirty”
It took some time to find the hotel. We had a private bungalow that was infested with bugs. There were huge red ants all in the bed and throughout the whole room. They crawled all over us the whole night. I did not even dare pull the sheets to see what I would find. I luckly brought an extra blanet with me to sleep with. There were lizards crawling all over the walls, but they didn't bother us too much. There were spiders in the bathroom and sink. The sink was broken and did not drain. I did not shower or brush my teeth during my stay. I only used the toilet because I had to. I did not even sleep well because I was so uncomfortable and had bugs crawling over me. There is also no alcohol permited on the property. It looked like they had a swim up bar, but nothing there. The photos were very decieving. We ended up checking out early the next morning and did not get our money back for our original 2 night reservation. The AC did work good though. And there was a safe in the room, which was nice. The hotel was very seculted and we were the only ones there. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay and don't mind creepy crawlers, then this is your place.
