“A shame not to have known it before”
After two weeks of rolling over Costa Rican national parks we had two days to relax before heading back home. I made a reservation in Cala Luna ,it was the best decision. The received us with a tamarind juice. The settings are gorgeous, room very clean with bathrobes included. They even treat us with a chocolate truffle at night. My kids love the pool and walks on the beach which is good for surfers but not for kids to swim, nevertheless we found great shells. Service at the front desk was excellent. They upgraded our last day to a villa at no extra cost. I highly recommend you the villas, lost of space, your own pool outside and a kitchen bigger than the one I have at home.
“You cant beat this one!”
Comfort, perfect!. Location, right on the beach with the more popular swimming beaches a 15 minute walk away. The staff are what will really make you appreciate this stay. The friendliest, most helpful and efficient staff I've come to meet; and I'd say I've travelled a fair bit. What comes around goes around. Give them the respect they deserve and...right back at you. The sushi bar it absolutely fantastic, and so are the two guys that run the show! Overall a peaceful stay, maintains a level of privacy that the larger all inclusives eat alive. Mostly European travellers, even better. Would go back again and again.
“We have stayed there twice now”
We love the Cala Luna Villa. It is nice and relaxing. This was our second stay in the same villa and if we go back again we would stay at the Cala Luna again. Large villa and feel secure.
“great place”
I spent a night here on my way back from nosara. tamarindo is a touristy town, and this hotel is very comfortable in a touristy way. i like the cabin-like rooms, very spacious and nice. the pool is quiet, and there is free wi-fi. i tried the sushi bar, and it was a little below average (i'm picky). it's not on the beach, but there is a nice, easy trail maybe 100 yards to the beach. good spot if you're looking to relax and drink by the pool.
“Will definitely go back”
The people were so friendly and helpful, they made my stay very enjoyable, I was treated like a friend and a welcome guest. The food was always fresh and well pesented, and all tastes were catered for, they were only too pleased to serve you.
“Excellent vacation”
The people of Cala Luna Hotel are very warm and nice people. They have excellent food! Everyone there made us feel very welcome. They try very hard to speak English and worked to teach us Spanish. I would recommend this hotel as it is a quiet and relaxing place to stay.
“Little piece of paradise!”
Loved Cala Luna!!! Quietly elegant, wonderful and helpful staff, great food.
“Absolutely the best!”
We spent our 10 year anniversary here and it was a perfect place to stay. Quiet and beautiful. The beach is a little rocky but very picturesque. I appreciated that it was not as busy as the beach in Tamarindo. It is an easy 20 min. walk to downtown Tamarindo via the beach or road. Either way is a good way to get exercise. If we wanted night life we went to Tamarindo as there are a lot of restaurants and night clubs there. It was nice to not have that right around our hotel. I ran every morning on the beach and on the roads. I felt safe at all times. The hotel has excellent food and the staff is so friendly and very accommodating. The plants and flowers around the hotel grounds were immaculate. Howler monkeys woke us up in the morning but I am an early riser anyway so it didn't bother me. It's part of the experience and culture.
“Only reason to go to Tamarindo...”
What a gem in the rough. We loved the Cala Luna grounds and their staff. Tamarindo was a bit of a disappointment but what it lacked the Cala Luna more than made up for. The place was hip and chic. Sushi/sashimi was spectacular and the bar/lounge was a great place to chill out, relax and get to know that someone special... Go ahead and go but don't drink the water...
“Excellent place to play & relax, We'll be back”
Rooms are very spacious, comfortable& clean. Hotel is large enough to have proper amenities,Yet small enough to provide personal service in style. Resturant is also very good. The entire staff is very friendly & efficiant.
