“Great, Affordable Hotel!”
I had a really great, comfortable stay. The hotel was clean, convenient, and affordable. Cable TV, wireless internet, mini-fridge (the grocery store is right across the street so you can stock up on any food you might need). I definitely recommend, seeing as most other resorts in the area are much more expensive.
“I am positive about this hotel”
I stayed in adjacent Coyaba for a week and I could not get extension so I booked the next door Allamanda at 40% of the price of Coyaba. To my surprise everything is quite same except these things: No attached restaurants managed traditionally. No Gift shops. No beach sports management. No Tennis Courts. No fitness room. The surrounded garden can be rated as 60% quality compared to Coyaba. But all these are at quite low price on the same beach front. The hotel is quite empty and I beleive that is the reason the management unable to put more staff. The environment looks quite dull because of not many guests. The staff I met just two people and they are okay. I lost my room key and the staff said "Don't worry we will replace" though the rule book says $50 for a lost keys. The attached Lebanese restaurant food is very good and not pricey. I liked it. The rooms are okay for the price we pay.
“Best deal on the island”
This was our third trip to Grenada and we found the best deal on the island. Located in the center of the best beach, this hotel everything we were looking for. We had a lot of dinning choices; the hotel restaurant located by the pool was very good, and several restaurants were steps away. We enjoyed sunsets and the beach from our terrace. The rooms were clean with ultra quite air conditioners and free internet access. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and had views of the beach. My kids took tennis classes and my wife had a great facial and massage. My family and I had a great time staying at Allamanda; we are definitely going back to this resort.
“Will stay there again”
Exeptionally courteous and helpful staff. The pool wasn't in service due to a crack, but a glorious beach is at the end of a walkway with lounge chairs provided. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a Grenadan version of a tailgate party across the main street and they can get rather loud but very peaceful. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
“Nice Place”
We only had one night at the hotel but would have gladly stayed longer Friendly helpful staff showed us to our comfortable and spacious room that had a fantastic view of the bay Food in the restaurant was good and the air conditioned cocktail lounge served great drinks Wander along the short path past the very small pool to the beautiful beach and once you politely tell the hawkers you are not interested they wish you well and leave you in peace The only down side was no lift (so those with heavy suitcases will probably need a porter to help) and the TV reception was rubbish - but who needs it!
“no hassel no fuss”
there is always a room at last min. staff are friendly and helpful. just a clean cheap roon right on the beach!
“quiet no frills hotel”
I booked 1 night at the allemanda on arriving in Grenada, because it was near the airport,I then spent a week staying at a remote spot on the east coast, returning to Grand Anse I drove round looking for a hotel to spend another 6 nights in. Eventually i returned to the Allemanda. It is ideally located near the centre of the bay beside other more expensive hotels, whilst the grounds of the hotel are a bit spartan compared with its more hyperactive neighbours, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a sleepy atmosphere, the staff are considerate and helpful. The restaurant is not brilliant, but there are many places nearby or in St Georges to eat.
“Adequate accomodations”
The on-site restaurant Lebanese style food) was excellent. The AC unit in the room did not get cold enough.
“Not too bad, a little overpriced”
The Allamanda is a solid 3-star hotel. It's clean, safe, the customer service is kind and beach access is great, because the beach is gorgeous. The hotel is located across the Spiceland Mall, which is very convenient for picking up water, grocery items, etc. The rooms are clean but pretty bare-bones: my room smelled a little musty when I first walked in; my coffee maker didn't work, nor did the remote control to my television. The air conditioner in my room started leaking in the middle of the night during the first night, which woke me up - kind of annoying, but I requested that it be repaired and they attended to it the next day. The restaurant on-site is pretty good and the waitstaff are helpful, but the meals are a little over-priced. I guess that's to be expected for the Caribbean. Just as a general FYI, cabs in Grenada are super expensive!
“Good staff, conference room needs upgrading”
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The main conference room could have been cleaner. Very good beach front location and walking distance from banks, food outlets and shops. Overall, stay was pleasant.
