Don't know where the name comes from but you should hop along there the next time you plan a stay in Glasgow!
Very Central, on sixth floor (adequate lift access) of building in front of Central station (entrance right next door). Reception hidden (its on the left) Very quick check in, rooms very modern, comfortable and a big screen TV. Downside very little space to put your clothes (so left them in the case!) and bathroom is very small but bright, very clean and a great shower (watch you do not slip, as I did)
outlook (over glass roof of station) was actually quite pleasing and there was no noise from the station.
Offered coffee and cakes on arrival - Nice touch and cakes and/or shortbread for you to help yourself near reception.
Breakfast had everything required although small area and very busy the day we were there.
However we enjoyed it and the staff were very attentive and pleasant.
Slightly overpriced, apart from that we enjoyed our flying visit for a concert at the SECC Hydro. (So close to the Train for the SECC, only two stops away and only £1.60 return from platform 17)

We stayed for 1 night on my birthday.
The hotel is located within easy public transport to Glasgow Central Hotel.
The room was lovely and spacious.
The bar was roomy and had a lovely wee window nook where we had a relaxing drink.
