The property was fine and handy for where we were going on our night out the room was clean and tidy the problem arose in the morning as we were going down for breakfast we never made it to the bottom of the stairs before being told it was twenty past nine and hot breakfast finished at 9.15 on a New Year’s Day he said with a smile. No just go in and get the breakfast you have paid extra for or we will refund your money as you didn’t get your breakfast. We thought it finished at 9.30 and thought we were in plenty of time.We have stayed in this hotel before that is why we returned but would not go back after this bad experience.

10/10 for man on reception stayed in room 15 which had no view other than roof plus room has support beam right next to bed but room was satisfactorily clean with exception of few high areas with dust but overall clean and tidy and nice hotel. Breakfast was ok nothing great but to sum up service and hotel lovely and definitely would stay again maybe not in that room.

Happy to stay again but coming by train next time!
Liked the position, across the road from the Botanic Gardens. Was able to obtain a ticket for Jekyll and Hyde in the Gardens which was a bonus. Only difficulty was finding it.Not the hotel at fault. There are so many road works in Glasgow coupled with one way system that for a stranger to the city, negotiating the way round was a challenge.

Good location
The hotel was clean , staff friendly and lovely location next to the botanical gardens. The only issue we had was that in the morning we could not have breakfast as we had not booked the night before. Make sure you book in for breakfast if you want some. Fortunately there are lovely cafes along Byres Road which serve great breakfasts.

Instructions to check in after regular office hours were sent on the day of travel. Even if you booked in this hotel, they do not tell you clearly that your room is actually next door at Embassy apartments. I was left alone outside for a good amount of time at midnight because they sent lockbox instructions during my travel day so I did not get the message until I called Expedia. I had sent messages days prior to my arrival that I will be arriving late. No notification to expect lockbox instructions and that no one will be at the front desk. Expedia was no help either as I was asking for another hotel and they said they cannot help because there were check in instructions. This was a very traumatic experience and both this hotel and Expedia did not respond to my demand for a refund of at least the first night due to the horrible check in.

A lovely hidden gem in the West end of Glasgow, room small but very clean and comfortable. Staff very good and attentive , working hard to cater for the guests . Nice breakfast in the morning with a good choice .

We have stayed in a huge amount of European hotels, and this is by far the worst we have ever stayed in. Our other couple friends said the same. We both gave it our rooms a D. The reviews on this hotel are so wrong and it is horrible. I cannot say enough about how dirty and soiled this property is,.

Not worth it. Try somewhere else
Double room was just 2 single beds pushed together with a very defined crease between them. Hot water lasted about 2 minutes and to top it all of their was previous guests trash in the shower. The only positive notes was that the room had a unique atmosphere and good location

What a find! Absolutely beautiful! My family and I stayed here 2 nights while seeing Scotland and it was by far one of the biggest rooms. They offer free parking, and if you are lucky like us you will get a spot right in front. It's located right across the street from the Botanical Garden and is perfectly located close to all the hot spots.I would defiantly stay here again.

Rooms are pretty tiny in this older facility but clean. Parking will be more of an issue in the future since the 4 parking spaces in the front of the building have been designated permit parking only.

The convenience of the property was ideal for my purposes. I found the room rather small and claustrophobic, but suitable for my one night stay. The property was clean and very well maintained. Parking facilities could be more explicit on booking, although I had no great difficulty.

Staff are very accomodating and helpful. Quiet and spacious apartment. Love that they have soap dispensers instead of little shampoo bottles (better for environment). Close to botanical garden, university and shops.

Beautiful relic of the city and comfortable modifications. The staff were all friendly and helped with moving our luggage in. We didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast because we woke up late, but the coffee/tea/biscuits in the room were good. The only worry was the parking but there seemed to be enough out front on the street without any parking restrictions

Great hotel and location
Very comfortable and good location, near restaurants, shopping and the University of Glasgow. Botanical gardens adjacent to the hotel are nice for a walk. Would definitely stay again.

A basic but clean hotel, staff were very helpful and pleasant. Good location for Botanic Gardens and West End, free parking at back... very tight access though, so be careful if with a big vehicle

Outstanding, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Special thanks to the kind attentive receptionist whoo went an extra mile and made our stay very special. The double rooms were huge and comfortable, clean and cosy. A really quiet hotel. The rooms are located in such a clever way that you never see or hear anyone. Our rooms were facing each other - very convenient. And I liked the fact that we used ordinary keys, not magnetic cards, and the rooms had to be locked by the key and the door did not shut without turning the key. In our case that we stayed with a child it was very important. You cannot lock yourself out. The bedding was very clean, the beds very comfortable, and there was a separate breakfast area where we had rea and coffee in the morning. I will not look any further when I am back in Glasgow and will recommend the Ambassador hotel with all my heart.

Great wee hotel in a quiet and convenient location
Lovely spot easily walkable to the west end and byres road where there's lots of food and drink options. The hotel is simple, scrupulously clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and personable. I often stay in Glasgow and in places 3x this price but this hotel was by far better for me as a lone traveller with simple needs.

The hotel is directly next to the Botanical gardens, which was the highlight of our trip to Glasgow. The parking was free and the staff did everything they could to help us with our late check in. The room and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast service was very good. Overall good value for money, would recommend!
