“Glasgee”
Great friendly hotel despite the size of it............................................................................................................................................................................................
“Best value hotel in Glasgow”
For a cheap deal, you don't need to look any further than the Alexander Thomson near central station. I have stayed in many more expensive hotels that fall way short of its standards. Stayed before several times and will stay again if available.
“Deffinitely be back again”
Hotel has been renovated and the rooms are very very nice. The staff are brilliant, friendly and tend to your needs. Hotel is in perfect location in city centre. only prob is with parking, best is oswald street for £12 for 24 hours only few mins on foot. Apart from that, love this hotel and deffi be back again.
“Great find, will come again”
Amazing find. Central location, next to Glasgow Central station. I was amazed how clean, large rooms there were. Highly recommended.
“Convenient comfortable hotel near Glasgow central”
From the outside it doesn't look like much and unfortunately the old building opposite is boarded up so does not give a good first impression but once inside it was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was no problem leaving my luggage as I had arrived early in Glasgow for a meeting. The room was very clean adn the Tv was excellent. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room. A comfortable chair to sit in would have made the stay more comfrotable. The bathroom was big but cold as it only had a small electric towel heater and had huge windows, it was very clean and well stocked. The breakfast was excellent but it would have been nice to be greeted by a staff member and informed it was totally self service. Checkout was smooth. Very convenient for Glasgow central station (5 minute walk). I would definitely stay here again.
“Convenient, if slightly dated, hotel.”
Hotel is very handy for Central Station. Room was fine but bed rather hard; also somewhat noisy as it faced onto Argyle Street (double glazing on the window would have helped). Breakfast was very good for a 2 star hotel and staff were friendly and polite.
“convient location”
We found this hotel convient to bus stop from airport as well as going to city . Restrant/ bar was acceptable also convient to nabourhood shoping centre and restrantsTheir was a small parking fee when we picked up our car .Internet accsess was handy also.overall would say reasonable value for money
“Comfortable, a bit shabby, but good value for money and close to Central Station”
This hotel was large, convenient for Central Station and the centre of town and very good value for money. My room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and I think newly decorated. Common parts were a bit shabbier and the decor of the dining room was a bizarre mish mash of old Baronial Scots, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and random Asian additions, eg huge metal leopards. Breakfast was patchy (was that really pineapple juice or diluted squash powder? And tinned fruit salad in syrup?) Who cares though - cheap and friendly.
“I would return - good rate, great breakfast”
Enjoyed our stay here - would recommend it. Good location - near railway station and shopping area (as well as the commercial business area). Warm room (we were there in winter and the room had a good heating system that you can control. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room was nice - along with the biscuits! Good breakfast too.
“Convenient and not too expensive”
There is no a/c in Scotland (most places) and it was warm there. I was on the 5th floor and ... heat rises. I left the window open all day but it didn't cool down, and outside I would actually need a jacket sometimes.
