Hampton Inn Great Falls Review

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: The foyer, the registration area, the decor all looked relatively new, as did the room where the free hot breakfast/buffet was held.
Cons: We were told that the hotel is being redone by floor, the main floor being 80% finished. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.
Location: There is a large outdoor mall across the highway - easy to drive to. There's a wide array of stores, restaurants to check out.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The foyer, the decor, the initial impression walking in was wonderful. After a long drive, it was a relief to know that my extra comments had been read, and the room given was nearly perfect. My 90 yr old step-mom and my two toy poodles were given a room at the end of a hallway on the main floor, right by the exit to the parking lot and where I could walk my dogs. There was a handicap parking space right there as well, so my step-mom didn't have too far to walk when we had been out. The room was very nicely decorated, the beds were perfect, the room and bathroom were well cleaned. There was a small fridge, with a little freezer, a new-age coffee maker, but no microwave. That is the only thing that was lacking in this room. I would definitely stay in this hotel when in Great Falls.

a great stay; AGAIN!

Posted 6-Oct-2014
Pros: beds are to die for; comforters I want to abscond with; free breakfast is WAY better than anyone elses.....
Cons: get closed captioning on tv remote; when I watch tv later than my husband, I want to turn the sound OFF and still read the script so he can sleep
great beds, fantastic comforters; wonderful breakfast, happy helpful staff

Comfortable hotel, excellent location, easy access

Posted 2-Oct-2014
Pros: Overall look of the clean room when we entered, beds very comfortable, free internet, great breakfast open til 10am, excellent staff
Cons: Become a non-smoking hotel, other than the smell, it is the fear of fire from a careless smoker
Location: Located across from a major mall, with easy access and great shopping, good restaurants
We have been to Great Falls many times, this time we wanted to stay at a different hotel, chose the Hamptons, and were not disappointed. Friendly staff that actually made eye contact. I sleep very well when travelling and like the fact that breakfast went until 10am. We drove all day and arrived around 3pm, appreciated the fact that our earlier registration was accommodated.

Convenient location and good service

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Free shuttle bus to airport was a real plus and the shopping center right across the street an added bonus. free wifi also.
Location: shopping center very close and places to eat as well.
My stay at the Hampton went well. First off, I arrived in town early and was able to check in before scheduled check-in. This was great , in my case, because I had nothing else to do at the time. It was nice to be able to relax in a very comfortable room for the rest of my stay. Also, the location of the hotel is close to the airport and to a shopping center and eating places. I would stay there again, and recommend it to anyone.

Disappointing

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: The young fellow at the Front Check in (when we had asked to move) was very helpful and extremely pleasant.
Location: The hotel is close to amenities and restaurants
We stayed at this hotel two nights (one day apart) Tuesday night/Thursday night as we travelled farther into Montana on the Wednesday night. The rate that we were quoted for the Tuesday night stay (that we had booked online) was more than what we were quoted for the Thursday night stay. The Tuesday night stay was good and the room clean and comfortable. The Thursday night stay however... we were put on the smoking floor in a smoking room... neither of us smoke, nor were we asked if we did. The room smelled very bad... so we opened the window hoping it would dissipate. We went out for supper and when we came back the hallway really smelled of fresh cigarette smoke. The saving grace was the young fellow at the check in. He happily moved us onto another floor into a room considered to be a suite as we had requested a King Size bed, at no extra charge. I have definitely learned my lesson and will no longer assume the things that I considered to be a standard. Going forward I will be asking a lot of questions regarding the rooms.

Welcoming and great location.

Posted 4-Sep-2014
Pros: Easy to get to and go from.
Location: There was a small strip mall near the hotel and a few good eateries close by. The movie theater was also close.
The staff was pleasant and always had a smile. We got in late due to car problems and the front desk person was wonderful. The breakfast had a lot of options for many dietary concerns. Our room was clean and the rest of the facility was welcoming for families.

Disappointing to find out all rooms are pet rooms.

Posted 1-Sep-2014
Pros: Breakfast buffet, front office staff and location.
Cons: Clean and stretch hallway carpets and designate pet rooms.
We checked in to find our room had a bad odor. The staff was helpful, but unable to move us to another room until morning. We were given a bottle of febreze and left the window open. I asked if maybe this was a pet room and was told all rooms may have had pets in them. I was disappointed to find this out, as I would not have booked there. We were moved in the morning and the new room was satisfactory. The hallway carpets were also in need of cleaning and stretching. Because we booked through expedia we were unable to cancel our reservation and move to another hotel. One thing I learned from this experience is if staying in a pet friendly hotel, investigate and find out if there are designated pet rooms or are all rooms pet friendly.

Great hotel with a great breakfast

We had a great stay for one night. Our kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the hot tub. They had a great selection for morning breakfast. We would stay here again.
