This is a small, comfortable, friendly hotel. Grand Lake is an ideal spot to stay if visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park. The town is surrounded by the park. Friendly people, especially the couple who run the lodge. Good food at the nearby restaurants. The room was spacious, but did not have a refrigerator. Overall we enjoyed our 6 day stay and would come back again if in the area.
My nephew was getting married and we needed a couple nights with reasonably priced rooms. Spirit Lodge worked for us. We came in late Friday night and left early Sunday morning. Another nephew arrived on Saturday, and he didn't intend to stay - but made a late minute change and Spirit was able to give them their last room for one night. Staff was friendly. I would have appreciated check-out being 11:00 am on Sunday so we could have a later brunch. But considering there were 5 weddings in grand lake that evening, we felt the staff was really accommodating.
"Very clean room, good location, friendly staff. Gr"
The first thing we noticed was how clean everything was in the room. The check-in staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the owner answered all the questions we had about town. They recommended an excellent place for us to eat, and even booked the reservation for us!
There was some icy spots in the parking lot but apparently some law states that dumping salt is prohibited since it's part of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Not a big deal.
Overall we had a great experience. We will definitely be back, and recommend this place to anyone coming to Grand Lake.

We stayed two nights here - the setting is rustic but very charming - furnishings were handmade . All you need to bring is food - everything else is provided - dishes, complete kitchen. Efforts to match towels, dishes , etc to the room setting - all rooms are themed.
We will stay here longer next year.
Can't wait to go back !

The town of Grand Lake is the westernmost entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The now-closed Grand Lake Lodge was a notable landmark in town, boasting a spectacular view of the lake of the same name, as well as frequent wildlife sightings.
