great place to stay, upkeep was great, hot tub was nice and the room was nice and large

Quite aways off Hwy 1 and rather old but very clean with new bathrooms and beds

“Good enough for what I paid”

I have no doubt this is a 2* hotel... exactly what I wanted; exactly what I paid for; exactly what I got. It was clean, comfy, stopover, crash place.

Clean, inexpensive, nothing fancy.

“Good for a place to sleep”

I needed a place to sleep on a drive from Vancouver to Fernie. Hotel is in a good location just off the #1 highway. Beds are comfortable, however, the room quite evidently smells of an establishment that used to allow smoking in the rooms. If you are looking for a cheap place to simply spend the night and leave early the next morning, this is for you. If you plan on spending any time in Golden, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

“Clean and functional”

The hotel was very basic --- it was functional, clean, the shower worked. It's somewhere inexpensive to stay when you're on a journey, it's not a place to stay if you're spending several days in the Golden area. I was on my way home after driving my son to university, not on a Rockies vacation. The Rondo was relatively difficult to find, and some distance from the highway, where most of the restaurants are located. It's close to the old downtown, mostly closed at night. A very good Greek restaurant, Apostoles, was only a block away, and the Rondo had a 10 per cent discount deal with the restaurant, though, surprisingly, the desk clerk at the Rondo didn't know the restaurant's hours. Overall, it worked out fine for me at the end of a long day of driving, and a quick getaway the next morning.

“Incovenient, Uncomfortable”

The steps to the second floor were covered in snow and very icy--hard to use. The internet signal was too weak and didn't work anywhere in the hotel. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. It was off the main roads.

“Won't stop in Golden again, move on to revelstoke or radium”

first time we ever got the heebie jeebies. Room smelled bad and furniture was stained. Desk service was indifferent at best. Fortunatly had our own bedding and used it!

“Dirty smelly place”

This motel 2 star rating is a joke. Motel is missing some stuff which is a standard for this level. Don't look at the pictures on Expedia site, it doesn't show the reality. I booked with Expedia so many time before, this for first time it was disaster. Unfortunately we had our small granchildren with us, and in late evening we had no choice. I discourage anybody to stay at this place.
