“Great Hotel”

Our trip to Goa during our 5 week holiday of India was to relax & enjoy my birthday,but despite paying Expedia over 6 months ago for our hotels the hotel had no knowledge of our booking, despite us having a confirmation number from Expedia. If it wasn't for the fact I called to arrange to be collected from the airport we would have had no where to stay. Mr Mark and Michelle did everything they could & managed to accomodate us for 5 nights of our 6 night paid stay. The last night we had to stay at another hotel which Mr Mark arranged as Expedia would not assist us, causing us to loose a day of our holiday and therefore it definately was not the birthday I had planned, despite Mr Mark giving me a bottle of wine! Our last night's accomodation was terrible and definately no where near the standard of Coconut Grove. Coconut Grove was great, but is out of the way if venturing out at night. It's very close to the beach; has a good laundry service; the rooms were clean; the staff very friendly and helpful and we would often return to our room to find that the hosekeeping staff had been creative with towels and flowers creating butterflies on the bed. Our room was close to the resturant meaning we were woken early when the morning shift started & because the hotel entertainment was located outside our room each night, the evenings were noisey The breakfast staff were always running out of plates, bowls and glasses & the food warmers were rarely on meaning the breakfast was often cold.

“fantastic place to relax”

The room was lovely and very comfortable and the surrounding gardens beautifully planted and the pool clean and warm. The restarant probably undersells itself as it has a more extensive menu than dispalyed on the outside and is extremely good value. All staff were very friendly, efficient and welcoming. The proximity to the beach was the icing on the cake. If i were to suggest improvements it would be for the bar to open a little earlier for people to get cold drinks by the pool, and it would be good if they served snacks. Would also be good idea for there to be a sign to the hotel from the beach just in case you weren't paying attention. Loved the Coconut Grove and was great end to our stay in India.
