“Good location as a base for a Cotswold holiday.”

We travelled with our 6 month old baby and a 2 year old toddler and we had a great time during the last Bank holiday weekend. I requested a quiet room and they’ve placed us towards the end of a ground floor corridor and that was perfect. I also requested a last minute portable cot (about 3 hours before arrival) and it was all set in the room when we’ve got there. The front desk was very busy when we arrived as there was an event going on and people were hanging out at the reception area. The family room had a nice and comfortable queen bed and a sofa bed with enough space for the portable cot. We found that the sofa bed was not suitable for a 2 year old (too high) so we requested a second portable cot and again it was there straight away with no additional charge for both of them. The swimming pool was definitely a highlight for our toddler. The room was clean enough and so was the bathroom. We have paid for breakfast and that was disappointing. No coffee machine or warm milk available and the staff were not very helpful when we arrived with the kids requesting the highchairs. Overall we had a good stay, good value for money and good location as a base for a Cotswold holiday.

“plesent stop over”

stayed here as a half way stop over on a 7hr drive and got it cheaper than advitised and also it had free parking and able to check in at 3pm room was clean and was quite during the night..

“good hotel on the edge of gloucester”

Check-in was very fast. I had pre-paid so that speeded things up. Staff were friendly and very efficient. The room I booked was an executive room with a sofa. The room had a 40inch television with freeview channels. The bed was ok and had a choice of soft or hard pillows. The room also had a mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a good size but I was disappointed with the water pressure from the shower. For this reason I only would give the hotel 3stars, otherwise it would of scored a 4. I think the hotel is most suited to business travellers and out of towners on weekend breaks (like myself). A car would be useful for most people that stay here because it is a 40 minute walk into town. I don't mind walking so that wasn't a problem for me, but other people may want to consider that when making a booking at this hotel. There is a sainsburys supermarket just a stones throw away if you need anything urgently. Overall I think this hotel is a safe bet for this area.
