ZERO STARS
If I could give zero stars I would. I travel a lot and this is the first BAD review. Stuck in this dirty disgusting place for a week. Zero cleaning and housekeeping. Muddy washers/dryers, the floors are muddy and filthy. Didn’t see a vacuum all week. Multiple people complaining about how dirty the place was. Overflowing garbage. Prepare to get your own bedding, towels and coffee because literally no one does anything there. Also don’t plan on getting the room they show as available, and be prepared to be charged for the more expensive one with the staff telling you there is nothing they can do. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Also the parking lot is disgusting. People park there just to carpool and obviously dump their trash on the ground on their way out. And loitering around the parking lot as well as doors that are propped leave you to believe there are odd happenings at this location…also there seems to be someone living in the parking lot and enjoying their hammock. Reading all of the other reviews I’m sure the manager will say they will look into this but don’t be fooled as this is mentioned before and as of today still the same. Pay the extra $5 to go somewhere else. At least there you will get a breakfast. Very disappointed in this place.

Nice room, shady parking lot.
Room is nice and for the price, I believe it is a good value. The parking lot however seems to be an area that attracts not the best element. Loud "tailgating", drinking, smoking, cursing, music into the night. I wondered why some other hotels in the area charge for parking and now I know why. Its to keep this from happening. If this was cleaned up, I would rate it a much higher rating. I've been concerned with the safety of my vehicle and myself for that matter.

This was a very nice place to stay. We only stayed for one night but I could’ve stayed a week. Our room had an area to cook and a full size refrigerator. Also a nice size table, big enough to eat and play games on. The room was stocked with dishes and everything you could need for the kitchen. Also, we had a great mountain view from our window. My only complaint would be they are pet friendly, there is no designated area for you to take your pet. We were under the assumption that there would be access to the river but there were no trespassing signs posted. The access to the river is a short drive away.

Only issue we had was the signage, etc still showed "Candlewood Suites". We were not sure we were at the correct location until we went inside. It had been bought out by a private firm and renamed Western Slopes Suites.

This property is old and supposedly being renovated. However that is not the way it was represented when booked. Room and linens did not smell like the hotel is doing any disinfecting. Very musty, lumpy old mattress. Dirty carpet on stairs. Elevator sounds like it is going to fall apart.

When I arrived at the property the room that was given to me, there was fully someone else living there. Then I went down to the office and it took about 45 minutes to get a new room. THEN when they finally gave me a new room key, the room they gave me was disgusting. Now they say they cleaned it… but it’d still horrific. I’m sleeping here tonight because I’m absolutely exhausted but I want a refund..

Be careful before booking with this hotel. We booked a stay, received several emails confirming our stay, and after driving multiple hours to get to the hotel we received a text message (not even a phone call) that said "we are overbooked, and don't have a room for you". We had nowhere to stay, were hours from home and the general manager who texted (Bailey) didn't even call to help us. We ended up staying in a not-so-great place since it was a holiday weekend, and we were stranded. We ended up paying more than double what we expected. I emailed the manager and did not even receive an apology email back. This is not an acceptable way to do business. They had multiple opportunities to realize they were overbooked but waited until the last minute to let us know. Don't book here if you want to make sure you have a place to stay!

My ice maker didn’t work, was there to hike trails so I’ve was a necessity for me, their solution was to give me a coffee cup full from a bag they had at the desk. TV didn’t work, clerk was helpful but had to go take a Direct TV modem from another room, then the remote wouldn’t shut it off, power button didn’t work on remote or modem either. Room was clean tho…👍

We had 3 rooms reserved. Upon arrival we discovered one room had not been cleaned. Had to wait 30 mins.. Sofa sleepers are in poor condition! King bed one bedroom suites are spacious…No coffee in the room…would have been fine had we known, we would have brought some along. Elevator makes terrible noise! Sounds like it’s ready to breakdown any minute! Location is nice! Nice view from rooms. Could hear people walking around upstairs. Otherwise it was quiet

Not what I expected. The pictures make it look nicer. Different name on hotel, so I thought I wasn’t at the right location. Mattresses have to be at least 20 years old. Shook every time anyone moved. Bath products are nice. Nice ice machine on floors. Freezer has one but not convenient for one night stay as you would have to wait for it to make ice. One lamp was missing a shade and lightbulb. Prob would not recommend for more than one night.

Had to change rooms in the middle of my stay. The front desk person told me my room would be cleaned right away so i could move. 6 hours later my room was not cleaned and i got to just sit in the lobby waiting for a clean room. If i could get my money back i would just leave. I will not waste my time and money at this hotel ever again. Was here for a while week and this is how they treat you, continue on and find a hotel in grand junction.

What a mistake.
Where to begin? THis hotel doesn't even have its name anywhere on the outside. Apparently it recently sold to Candlewood Suites which put up it's name but no mention, even on a stick-in-the-ground lawn sign that it used to be WEstern Slopes. Found out by going to another hotel to ask. Internet did not work. No manager. Our bed was so close to a wall on one side that I literally could not sit with my feet on the ground. Light fixture (only on one side of bed) did not work. NO ICE to be had anywhere in hotel!!
